gaskets

i was looking at some pics on this site of a 07 215cc the fish box covers have gaskets on them. i have a 08 215 cc my covers do not have gaskets am i missing them or is this a change in the 08. there does not look like a place to put a gasket on my covers.too i saw where a triumph boat owner was haveing the dealer paint the bottom of his NEW BOAT because it was going to be put in salt water what would be the reason for this.my dealer did not tell me i needed to paint my boat to put it in salt water

i was just thinking about why you would paint the bottom of a new boat and came up with if you were not going to take the boat out of the water very much the paint would help sea life from growing on it. is there any other reason

The only reason you would want to go to the trouble and expense of using anti-foul bottom paint is if you plan to leave the boat in the water for weeks at a time. If you pull your boat and keep it on the trailer most of the time you do not need to do this.

Here is the factory response to the questions:

There is no gasket on the fish boxes on the 2008 models.

Bottom painting is done on Triumphs for the same reason as any boat. If you are keeping your boat in the water full time in an area that has heavy marine growth then you may want to consider anti fouling paint. If not, then you probably don't. I would ask around in the area you are keeping your boat and see what the consensus is by other boat owners.
If you do choose to have anti fouling paint put on your Triumph hull there are special procedures that you'll need to follow for the paint to adhere. Here is an article from Triumph on the subject:

Applying Bottom Paint to Your Triumph Hull
