2005 Chaos ...feedback

I am thinking of buying a 2005 chaos or a 2006 215cc. Can anyone give me feedback good or bad about this boat. I have heard about scuppers but wondering if anyone has encountered anything else? I currently have a 170 cc logic so I know all about the ropolene and maintenance.
Also if anyone has any feedback on Raymarine electronics?

Thanks, Glenn

Glen, we have a 2005 210CC with Raymarine electronics.

You can read about our boat in the "Articles" section as to the electronics we installed. No problems with our electronics and still happy with our choices.

In our opinion, almost every model year has shown improvements over the previous. I am glad we purchased ours in 2005, becasue a 215 would not fit into our garage.

We have solved the scupper issue, so no problems for us to report. Try doing a search in the 210/215 Forum for our solution.

I have a 2006 Chaos and absolutely love it. It is listed in the Classifieds (as I need to sell the boat but plan on buying a 190 Bay next year). Mine has a full compliment of Furuno electronics though so I can't speak to the Raymarine but everyone that I know that has had Raymarine likes the equipment a lot. Triumph had a few problems with scuppers from the manufacturer a couple years ago but replacing the ball scuppers with new ones and adding duck bill scuppers in the deck drains has taken care of the problem for me. The 215 is a great fishing boat and it is not too big for us to take the kids skiing at the lake near our home and on a good day we'll go 50 miles offshore with it too.

glenn. i have a 08 215 that i love, it is big enough that my wife and kids are not scare to go offshore in ,but small enough to use in the lakes and rivers. i can put the boat in the water by myself with out any problems. i am sure that both boat would be a fine boat for you to buy, its a triumph isnt it.

I Would Say Buy The Latest Model You Can Afford Or Get The Best Deal On . Almost All The Issues Of The First Few New Model Years Have Been Addressed By The Factory And We Owners Have Worked The Older Models Over With The Necessary "need Tos" .
I Would Not Give A Second Thought As To Not Taking My 01 210 Out 50 Miles With Randy Or Any 08 215cc Model Owner

As I stated I have a logic 170cc now and take it offshore as far as 12 miles (weather and seas allowing). That being said I have really got the offshore bug and need something that can handle the rougher seas. I have loosened the deck on my boat (I am sure partly due to the pounding from the ocean) this seems to be a common problem with the older boats. This is the reason I have focused on the 21 footers as the deck is part of the mold and not screwed down.

My question is what kind of seas (ie 3-4' - 4-5') do you owners feel comfortable taking your boats into?

Any recomendations on motors? I have been leaning towards Yamaha four stroke or hpdi. Pros or cons?

Any other recomendations for offshore necessities or wants?

Thanks NCAngler: I have heard furuno is better than ray marine (durability wise ..which is probably the more important than features). I have seen your boat on here. Very Sweet boat would love it but I don't have that kind of money. I am looking in the 25 to 30 range. Whataya say...deal or no deal LOL.

Thanks to all posters, Glenn

Sidebar: Anyone at the factory reading I would mold stainless threaded inserts (something with a flange) into the hull and screw the deck down with machine screws and locktite.

glenn i have had my boat out in 3-5 foot seas and we saw a few 7 footers that day. we were fishing and didnt have much trouble standing. it was a little rough of a ride but stayed dry. myself i would nt take my boat out in any seas over 5 -6 foot. and surely not with the wife and kids. but in sea of3-4 these boats do well. good luck
