bouncing electronics

I just purchased a 01 logic 210cc,it has nice electronics that came with the boat, however while under way they bounce a lot,it would seem that the electronic box in the console, needs some type of bracing or maybe a piece of starboard added..anyone else have the same trouble,if so how did you fix it.

most of us have put from 3/8 to 1/2 starboard on the base of the box and it takes the vibration out

wow, I have a 2002 I have not notice any bouncing, I have notice that the bottom is weak and flecible...I just install a very heavy fishfinder...how ever I installed near the sides, perhaps that is why I have not noticed the bounceing. So maybe try and put your heavey electronics to the sides...just a thought.

I did both things already suggested (backing starboard & mount on side) and then added some shock absorbing foam pipe insulation under the corners of the FF/GPS screen to take out the slack in the swivel mount. Photos to come later.

what bounces on mine is the plexi-glass cover, however I did notice a modification to this a while back where someone stuck some foam strips to the edges of the glass cover to make it a tighter fit. It seemed like a good idea. I can't imagine that the actual box is bouncing, more likely the whole boat, but possibly in the middle as genelie mentioned, my GPS/chartplotter unit is also mounted on the side, so I haven't noticed this. I would say the Starboard is a good idea.

I mounted the GPS and Sounder to the top of the electronics box. I just flipped the brackets over, no bounce and the bottom is clear to hold other junk. I found that viewing from the transom seat was much better, no glare or shadows. I hope this helps.
