215; How do the rod holders drain?
Like and idiot I pulled up to the fuel pump and tried to pump fuel into the rodholder. I thought, "She can't be full!!"
When I got back to the house I tried flushing the holder with water and a piece of foam floated up out of the rod holder. I wouldn't think the rodholder drained right into the foam but I really don't know. Did I mess something up? I seemed to get some fuel smell into the bilge. |

Thanks NCangler!! She's an '07. I didn't pull the floor but I hosed the bilge down real good and ran some water through the rod holder. It cleaned up pretty fast. I've got all the hatches open and am letting her dry out good.
That forward port rod holder's right next to the fuel fill, so I need to keep my head out of my butt from now on!! |

KFay,
If you do not think that you have learned your lesson, you can get a small bottle of model plane paint in red or bright orange and paint the top of the gas cap. It will wear off during the season, but you'll have enough in the bottle to last 5-10 seasons. It's easy to mistake a rod holder for the gas cap on the 195CC also. John D. |

Thanks all, great group! Maybe I'll string some crime scene tape over the rod holder!
(;-D I flushed the bilge with some soapy water, got it running clean without much fuel odor and sopped up any excess. I should be good-to-go. KFay |

back in the 70's i bet i dumped 5 gallons on the deck of my 23 ft sea ox cc b-4 i realized it was running out the splashwell onto the street-----it happens and the best way to avoid doing it again is to mark/paint it .
