Splashing Boat from Storage Next Week

Hope this message is finding everyone well. I have a 215CC (2007) and this will be the first time I will be launching my boat from winter storage. I had the boat winterized (and serviced) in Nov 2007, including adding stabilizer to fuel. The boat is racked indoor, so I don't expect to have to do much on the cosmetic side. Would appreciate pre-checklist launch suggestions before I dump boat in water. Thanks much...

Tim

Could the boat sit on a trailer while the engine cooling intake is hooked up to water (like flushing) and run the motor for a while? Also, while the bilge plugs are in, run some water in the deck to flow into the bilge to see if the bilge pump will come on. Check all lights. Check the engine tilt system.

  • Check the Engine Oil level (does not matter if 2 or 4 stroke) and do a good visual on the engine wiring harness (mostly grounds) to make sure they are snug and nothing has been "chewing" on them.
  • Drain off the fuel filter bowl and check the connections.
  • Shifter operation,
  • Check the water level and charge the batteries and make sure the cables and hold downs are snug.
  • Check steering operation and shoot some grease through all the fittings
  • Check the prop nut
  • Shoot a little silicone spray into the ignition switch
In other words a very through PreFlight inspection
