As for the gas smell, hopefully you do not have a leak in a fuel line, I do have the smell as well, BUT that is normal, since the fuel tank is practically under the center counsil. So Like all gas they have fumes and will generate a smell. I always open my counsil, and lay a life vest to prop open, thus allowing any smell to escape.

Okay, the water was coming from one of the drain tubes connected to the cup drain on the console.
I did take the boat out for the first time this past weekend and found some things that need fixing...

1.) The screws that mount to the center console back out a little so I have to tighten them?
2.) The boxes drain poorly, especially the one in front of the CC?
3.) Bait well not working... I can hear the motor but nothing happening?
4.) There is a beeping sound coming from the console area at low speeds and it is not an Oil problem? Suzuki 150 2 stroke
5.) How can I add a bigger anchor and mount it, the box is too small to fit it in?

I really like this boat and it is my first one but does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these problems.

Thxs,

Fred, before folks chime in, have you tried doing searches on all your topics? The search feature on this site does work.

AND ---- very good to ask before just going in full speed. Congratulations on thinking ahead. Looking here first, in my opinion, will save you both time and money.

fred i have a 215cc and in my bait well there is a value you have to open befor you trun the pump on dont know if yours is like that also you can take the top of the pump off and see if any trash is in it . some times it will take a little time for the pump to start pumping if you have had the boat out of the water.its a prime thing.. sometimes i have to take the top off the pump with the boat in the water to get it to prime but after that it will work all day..as far as the fish boxes most triumph boat boxes drain slow as do mine no ez fix for that.. the beeping could be comeing from your sonar or fishfinder if you have one like a shollow water alarm. like vic said do a search on anchors there is some good info .... good luck

fred i forgot something there should also be a valve right under the bait well pump that goes to open water that is you sea cock it needs to be open too.. is it safe to say that you bought this boat used. if so some people will use their bait well pump to run a raw water wash down too. if this is your case than there will be a two way valve somewhere between the pump and the bait well that you can swtich between the two.

Red face Loose screw

Hi Fred,

Looking at the photos, I noticed what looked like burned plastic near the Rule pump. Is it melted plastic or dirt?

I've noticed that on rough rides, some of my deck screws will loosen up a bit; I just snug them back down. I do have one stripped screw hole that I will repair with some Roplene powder.

Although I have a different model boat, I've noticed that when I'm at the bow (in light chop) and start the bait well, there is a loss of prime or an air bubble gets trapped in the pump so it doesn't put out water. When I move aft, the pump starts to work. My pickup is located on the bottom of the boat, but the pump is a bit high riding on top of the seacock.

Beeping may be from your fish finder? I set mine to 3 foot for minimum depth so it beeps when I'm less than 3 feet.

My anchor was a bit big. It's a West Marine simple fluke anchor. I cut 2 inches off the ends of the anchor (both sides) painted cold galvanizing compound and it works.
