Hi,
New Triumph Boat Owner here (2002 - 210 CC) and I noticed that when I opened my center console cover and looked down at the battery there is ~ 2 inches of water down there? Does anyone know where the drain plugs are and what is a good way to get at them and clean them? Thxs, Fred C |

If You Are Talking About The Hinged Main Center Console Having Water In The Bottom--that Would Be A First For Me. There Is No Drain In This Area Where The Batteries Are So I Am Concerned As To How It Got In There In The First Place And That It Would Have To Be Vacuumed Out Or Soaked Up.

Hi Fred,
Welcome aboard. I have a 2004 - 210 CC and it has the raw water wash down pump mounted on the port side, inside the CC. Possibly the hoses to and from the pump are the source of the water. As Illogical, GGC says there shouldn't be water in there. Hope ya find the source. Ken Quote:

Hmm... I took some pictures last night and I smelt a gas leak as well. Things are not looking so good right now. I checked the hoses coming from the cup- holders etc. and nothing was loose? Any ideas?

OK, batteries sitting in water, not my idea of fun. As to gas leak smell, it could be the smell that our plastic gives off.
Try doing a search on "gas smell". Now I am not saying it's NOT gas, but based on our own 210 and the smell we have at times, it may not be.

Fred, I checked with the factory for you on this:

That's funny, the drain was staring me in the face <I can see my reflection in the water holding the camera>. I was looking for some drain holes in the corners or something. Okay, looks like I better clean up the debris in the water before I open the drain so I do not clog something else down the line. If Triumph designed the compartment to not be water tight and they also put a drain in there then I suspect a little water is okay and no need to stress. right?
I read the posts about the Gas smell and contacted 2 local fire departments about borrowing a handheld detector for flammable gases. Both fire departments turned me down so I will try calling a few different ones next week. Thxs Everyone |

I would not worry about a little water in there but I would want to find out how that much water got in there and I would not want my batteries sitting in it.
Regarding the fuel smell... check out this thread: Smell of Gas You want to make sure of course that you do not have a fuel leak somewhere. |

I had the same problem with my old 210. but I have a fix for you.... Take out that drain cover and right at the lowest points in the cover (where your fingers would rest when you would be twisting it off) I drilled all the way though the cover with a drill bit about the size of a large pencil
![]() By doing it here, it creates a slight siphon effect, and will pull out most of the water that gets in there into the bilge to get pumped overboard... Simple fix even if you never find the reason why it gets there in the first place
