Vic and tfink, I may try the back in locker idea depending on how I can store chain as I do not think the grove in pulpit will allow chain fit though hole. I will have to try. Vic the concept page is down or "not found" I will have to look harder later. I did see it a while ago as I followed the set on your 210. It is great how you overcome space issues.

I just wrapped the chain around the cleat. See the attached photo.

gsdiener,

I have a standard anchor and 4' of 1/4" chain on my anchor. The anchor stays under the pulpit ready for use on and off the water and the chain and line fit down and into the grove in the anchor locker. I added a tensioner to hold it all tight.

I guess I don't understand what your problem is at this point?

GSDiener, I think you are correct that the chain will not fit "in the groove." The answer is to either install a tensioner or wrap the chain around a cleat.

Sorry no picture available but I think you can imagine this; Instead of buying a $35 anchor chain tensioner I bought a $5 stainless steel carabiner and attached an all rubber bungee to the chain with that. I just loop the bungee over the cleat inside the anchor locker and it holds great, cost less. The whole set up runs through the roller on the anchor extension just fine.

Photos could come later if anyone is interested. Boat not at home right now.

During my 10 days at lake Ontario I was able to put my anchor under pulpit without the chain, made for some more difficult hookups without the added weight but worked. Although I took anchor off before coming out of the water I think it would work leaving it in place.

Codfish I would be interested in seeing pictures if you can get the time. I also have seen different anchors that may get this to work better.

Thanks again for the valuable input.

Gregg

My anchor was a lucky find that fits perfectly and works very well on our 195DC.

It's labled a "Kodiak" and was made in the USA.

Looks good I will try to find one, what size chain? It looks to fit into the locker.
