Thumbs up Windlass on 215 Chaos

With my wife and I both over 60 ---- I wanted to get a windlass on my anchor to reduce time and energy it takes for us to lift anchor. We were recently introduced to the Triumph Owners website. A 4 second search on the word Windlass gave us access to information on getting the job done. And right here in Southern Ca. One of the threads recommended we try David Lawson with Seaside Marine Electronics in Costa Mesa Ca. David was great. I had checked with other Marine locations and they suggested I wait until the fall. Too Busy.
David suggested he could have it done the following week. We picked the boat up on sunday at 10 am and had it on the water in Newport by 11:30 to test it out. Ended up going out in 3-4 foot seas and anchoring at one of our favorite rocks. Lewmar Windlass works great. Drops easy, and we did not use a muscle to get the anchor back on board. Anchored in 3 spots in and out of the reef. David Modified the anchor hold on our 215 Chaos, wired the switch at the helm ( not an easy job on the 2004 chaos) and set us up with a new claw type anchor, chain and 300 feet of rope. Picture attached in PDF. If anyone is interested I can post or send additional pics of the install. Thanks Triumph owners.net
