steering leak?
I have a 2004 210 Chaos with a 150 evinrude. I have a steering leak somewhere, but can't seem to find it. I have filled and bled the system 2x so far and haven't found any fluid behind the helm or near the bilge or at the strut by the engine. Is there somewhere else that I should be looking at? What am I missing? This is getting kinda frustrating...

Steering Leak
Trying to chase down leaks in hydraulic steering systems is very difficult indeed. Teleflex Steering fluid is a light straw color, which means that it almost clear when coming out of a leak. The first thing I do is bleed and fill all Hydraulic systems that I service that use Teleflex Steering Fluid with aircraft Mil-H-5606 Hydraulic Fluid, which is dyed red. This color makes small leaks alot easier to find. I would check every fitting in the system for tightness. The fittings are mostly compression fittings, and if the tube is not seated in the fitting and the ferrule fully torqued, then air can enter the system. I know it's not much, but I hope this helps.
