Problems With fuel tank on an 01 21cc

This weekend I made chilling discovery 22 miles off shore that my tank had either craked or came loose from the filler tube in the foward area of the tank it dumbed about 10 gal of fuel into the bilge. we made it back fine but with no dealers in the aransas pass rockport area it will be dificult to get it fixed has anyone heard of this problem on these models mine has the poly tank.

have you pulled off the round access plate cover to see if the tank slid back. on my 01 the tank ends on a rise out of the floor that goes across the width of the hull bottom. the livewell pump is just to the rear of this rise and the bilge pump is on the opposite side.
logic dave from the old site had his tank slide back and it almost took out the livewell pump .
i think the guys at merritt helped him with getting it reanchored to the hull.

The tank is still in its origonial position cant see anything on the upperside. but I can hear it suck air way up under the seat live well area if I stand on it. They going to start ripping it up today and I will let everyone know what happeneded by wensdayafternoon. Thanks for the imput robert. Also did your buddys tank came loose from the bolts?

Thanks yea it scared the heck out of me when I pulled the bilge plate off and saw about 15 gal of fuel in the bilge luckely we got back with no major damage. I sould know something by tomorrow when they pull the live well and seat area off. hope I can get the parts to repair it before memorial weekend.
