OK this makes NO since at all. Bilge pump...
float switch and ground to battery, works like a charm with high water level Now the part that is making me crazier than normal: With the manual override switch on I show 18.9 volts on the wire going to the pump but the pump will not run in manual. I show the same 18.9 volts across my battery and if I put the manual lead from the pump to the hot side of the battery it will run!!!! What in the world am I not seeing? volts is volts right? Please someone tell me that I am looking too hard and it is so obvious. Thanks, Crazy Dave |

check your switch on the panel (open console and look behind little storage bag to access), make sure switch didn't get disconnected for manual operation.

I had to replace the manual bilge pump switch on my 190 a couple of weeks ago.It apparently died in winter storage. Same syptoms as yours ( I think). If you jump across the switch terminals and the pump runs, then that's a bad switch.
About 7 bucks at NAPA will solve the pronlem. |

probinson,
this is the same problem baileydale is talking about. check the switch, mine did the same thing and my switch plug was disconnected, hooked back up and it was fine, but your switch could be bad. not sure why we'd ever need the manual anyway. |
