My season is done.....

I hated to do it but...I winterized and the season if finished. Had a great time with my 04 210 / 150 Yammy 4 stroke. Fished, Crabed, Cruised, Pulled Tubes all over the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. This being my first season with a Triumph product, I give it a high score. Very low maintenance and forgiving at the docks and fuel pump. I often thought my gas guage was broken but that Yammy 4 stroke sips fuel like a fashion model eats! Lookin forward to next season already. Have a good Thanksgiving and Holiday season everyone.

PS, I forgot to mention flounder and crabs the Eastern shore would die for.

Recycle, The prop is the Yamaha Black Stanless model..Not sure what the pitch is but it's the standard one in the Yammie catalog. My dealer here said he has tried many different ones and this is the one they prefere. I have no complaints, pops up on plane in short order, runs 38-40 mph depending on load and conditions WOT. Works for me. Next year I may run my season a bit longer but this time of the year I chase deer so my time is limited. Are you running some special prop? What's it do for you? BigGrin

Smiley,

Currently I'm running a 14x19 Solas prop. I have tried several different sizes of Solas and Yamaha and as of now this is the best all around.

I can top out at 40/42 mph with all my gear and 3 folks. But I only turn 5400 rpm. Folks supposedly in the know and Yamaha say I should be able to turn 6000!

No matter what prop I have tried I have never exceeded 5600 and @ 5600 my fuel economy and top speed went down. This is not my first outboard and I am beginning to believe Yamaha has overstated the RPM.

I range from 3.7 to 4.10 mpg per tankful depending on the sea conditions.

I really believe the boat will perform better with a prop that has a lot of bow lift.

I'm looking around I would like to try a 13.75 x 19 4 blade prop. I think this might be the ticket.

Thanks for the reply.

Recycle, Do you have trim tabs? I really like mine and under certain conditions they help staying on plane at slower speeds and also in choppy conditions they smooth things out a bit. You have been through some props man...Do you have to buy all those or can you return them. This is my first outbord of this size so I don't know any different. I do like this boat and setup. It seems to perform just fine for me. Take care and I have injoyed the dialog. BigGrin

Hi Smiley,

Yes I have trim tabs but I am astounded at how seldom I use them!

I've been running ocean boats for over twenty years and this hull is amazing for a 21 footer.

I just borrow props from friends to experiment with. I sure could not afford to purchase them.

I have yet to find a prop that the boat did not plane out quickly with.

My main deal as I get older is an engine that runs comfortably and fuel economy.

My two and three engine days are past me, but I still want a respectable speed.

Thanks
Recycle

Ok Recycle, Let me know when you get that bad boy dialed in with your prop. As far as this hull, your preaching to the choir my friend. We owners know just how nice these boats run. I like my plastic vessell, it's tough to break and easy to clean. I would like to see however what the next (bigger) model has to offer when it comes out.
