2002, 210cc follow up on thru hull leaks

Well after a week of drying out. hopefull that all water has been drained. {I allways keep my boat tilted up during its bath and storage.} I drove her down to a local ramp that is allways quiet, plenty of time to launch, or to do a bit of leak detecting. I got there and I see a 2005 190 about to launch, it was their first time. I did not get a chance to talk to them much..since I myself was doing my leak research. Okay back to my story.... she is now backed down the ramp, not in the water yet. So I instrucked the wife what to do when I was ready...I pulled the rear deck lid up.....AND HOLLY Doo doo.
Where did all this water come from..WOW!!! Well after scratching my head for about 30 minutes and watching all this water come flowing from the front of the boat. I figure PLEASE TELL ME IF MY GUESS IS WRONG> That after I wash the boat, and yes I wash on a incline, I would asume all the water that goes into the fish boxes, and including the mega hatch, well some of that water is getting trapped. and will only come flowing out when the boat has a rather big tilt, SUCH AS A BOAT RAMP>>> I tell you I stuff rag after rag to soak up all the water...it kept flowing for 30+ minutes.... then the flow of water slowed enough to allow me to stuffed more rags in the channel leading back to the bilge, and keep that area dry. I placed her in the water..... NO leaks....just a very minor one That I will caulk when dry....So now I have egg on my face so to speak. I swore there was a leak, the whole time it was trapped water from wash downs...go figure.
So I called my dealler and let them know, that they were right and I was a dumb dumb...They told me thanks for letting them know.

Yes, we admit to being on the anal side, but we just purchased a Craftsman Clean N Carry 2 gallon Wet-Dry Vacuum, Portable Tank Style, 1.5 Peak hp, model #17713. That way we can do better at getting all the water out of the boat before we put her in the garage. We figured 2 gallons was heavy enough and the price of $29.99 was livable.

We hope this will help solve our water after wash down concerns. It might not work, but might be worth thinking about.

Getting the water out of the boxes is no problem....it is that stuburn water that gets trapped once it arrives into the boat channels leading to the bilge.
Since Yesterday when I knew that a steeper incline is needed. The hard part would be achieving that incline. I currently use blocks of wood, that meet with the bottom of the trialer jack when fully receeded. Then of course jack .it up...I only get about a 3 foot incline...
worse case , I could always go to the local hill in town, ( park and drain) LOL

Do you sponge out your mega hatch and your fish holds AFTER your wash down? If not I’m sure its water that has sat in the holds until a steeper angle is reached. If you do I would guess you must have some kind of a dam forward of your rear deck preventing proper flow back?? I use a grout sponge and a 5gal bucket to remove aprox. 3gal of water from my mega hatch after a thorough wash down my fish holds are no problem now with the garboard plugs out. But before the rear ones held a bit of water.

all my boxes drain fairly well, If I am in a hurry, yes a sponge dry, as for the mega hatch , I use a portable manuel bilge pump. So all boxes are dry. So yes there would appear to be some type of obstruction to hold back water, unless I am at a steep incline,. bummer.

guess I'm just not as anal, I just let is sit right in the mega hatch, it doesn't hold too much anyway, never have much of a water issue, keep the boat jacked up a bit and it seems to drain into bilge fine, I've never had much water blast out of the bilge when I put it on a hill, maybe one little blast of the bilge pump is all and it is all drained out. When storing for the winter I make sure I get all the water out first.
