making perko outrigger mounts water tight

I have a set of perko outrigger mounts to p ut in my gunnels but have been putting it off because I did not want to put them in my gunnels with the bottoms open. I tried to find some kind of cap to put on but had no luck. I decided to make my own.
I took a thin piece of plastic and glued it to the bottom of the mount then took a product called Plasti Dip (used to put rubber coating on tool handles and the like). The Plasti Dip adheared to the metal and made a rubber cap over the open end of the mount. This should work. now to work up the never to cut into my boat.

I got the outriggers sealed and mounted. with out cutting access holes in the sides of my gunnels. they look good. now to figure out the rigging. not one of the packages of parts even showed a picture of how the rigging goes together. I can probably figure it out eventually.

outriggers--dang!!!. you gonna make me work too hard in july at the macfest!!!!!!
based on the reports i'm seeing the 240 rock will be about as far out as we will need to go to get 'em. get the ff loaded in the gps for sure: nwplaces 1, 2, and 3,, big 10, little 10, rocks 19.6,20.3,west,and sw. ,ar305(will prob. have divers on it all day). worst case start at 240 and troll back in thru above to end up at nwplaces 1. hopefully they will be in no farther than big 10 by july. will keep you posted as time draws near. all my kings 2 weeks ago came from right on the dot at big 10
