i found on the 01 210 cc that once any water did get inside and you had the foam plug supposedly "filling" the void, that the plug actually floated in the water and cause more pressure thereby causing the cover to fail more quickly.
interesting to see what triumph comes up with as this issue has been out there since day 1!! and as we have always pointed out , each model will be better with our suggestions being brought forward for the plant to consider Berto

Wow, 5 years? I couldn't even look at my boat for days after cleaning it up and it was just over 20 months. If the smell at the back of the boat is not enough to knock you over, then it may not be that bad. Check early and often.

been lucky no smell, allthough you can see around the edges the blackish stuff as it wants to creep out.

I was reading this thread and looking at my 195DC.... There isnt any wells like this on my boat. It is a 2007 model so maybe they have made corrections to the mold to fix this problem. Hopefully they will use the same fix for all the new models coming out. I am at work and cannot get a photo but I will post a pic as soon as I can get one to show how they make the transom area now.

It is only an issue on the 210/215 splashwells. As I understand it all 210/215's made since June 1st 2005 until now have a new rotomolded block that almost completely fills the void under the splashwell plates. Any water
that does get by the plates it is limited to a cup full or so. So boats like my 215 made in February of last year already have the new plates/block and do not need to be pulled. There will be a warranty fix for 210/215 owners of boats made prior to June 1st 2005 announced soon. we asked and Triumph was happy to accomodate. As soon as I know the details I will post them. It is a matter of production schedule on these new blocks/plates and how to process the orders. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience. |

Randy, that is great news. Hat's off to Triumph on finally getting our message. I eagerly await hearing from my dealer when the details get worked out.
Now if we could just get them to listen on the automatic bilge pump. Maybe? Codfish |

I believe that is what I have on mine. They still leak, smell, and in general cause frustration. I don't consider that a fix. All it is, is an empty plastic container that closely fits the shape of the transom well, limiting the amount of water the well can hold. The bottom, sides, and top around the "float" still hold water and the problem is still there. I was hoping for something more.
![]() The pictures I posted are the top of one while sitting in the well. I will post a complete photo. The water in the far right photo was already in there, the hose had not yet been turned on. Last edited by Stalker; 06-10-2007 at 02:40 PM. Reason: Added photos ref. |
