I'd be a little leery of plugging my scuppers? As LSU mentioned where does your water go when you take some in, last weekend for example I was in some very rough conditions and occasionally a wave would come over the transom cut and a bit of water would enter the splashwells, the scuppers promptly removed it every time. I would not feel too comfortable not having my scuppers there.

Fishahn, you make a very good point. We too have more severe water conditions and fishing techniques here in Oregon. I routinely am forced to backtroll into the wind and have waves over the transom all day when halibut fishing. If I plugged my scuppers I would have constant drainage into the bilge through the engine controls opening in the starboard side splashwell area. I will have to leave mine unplugged but I do like the idea for lake or bay type trips.
