I got one of those rubber stoppers in my owners kit when I picked up the new boat last year. Mine had a handle attached through the hole, kind of like those well nuts. Never could figure out what it was for. I thought it might be a plug for the live well. Oh well, now I know how to use it if I want.

Sorry Codfish, but I think they are a different size. The rubber stopper that came with my boat has a number “8” stamped on it. The one that fits the scupper hole has a number “7” stamped on it.
They are close, but if yours is like mine, it is just too big for the scupper hole. I tried to make it fit, but failed LSUTiger 1947, the answer is “it doesn’t”. But, with no plugs in the scuppers, we ended up with the two rear fish boxes FULL of water as well as the rear of the boat. So, my option is – no plugs and have a lot of water with wet feet, OR install plugs and have very little water to no water, depending on the weather conditions, etc.

Wow, I was wondering why you would need to move your scuppers...Thanks for the picture..That is one big sounder.

Update on our scupper fix. After quite a few trips into the Gulf, Sarasota Bay, or the Intercoastal, the rubber plugs are still in place and the back of the boat stays pretty dry. A little water seeps in because the plugs have holes in them, but not much. The rear fish boxes even stay dry.
This is a GREAT fix that I can recommend to everyone.

We have something similar for our boat but instead of having holes in the rubber plugs there is a screw that you tighten that expands the rubber plugs so they become sealed into the scupper holes. Then after the day is over you unscrew them and what ever water you have, drains out. I will post pics sometime tomorrow.

Thanks OuttaHere:
Those do look very interesting and functional. Can you please furnish details at to where to purchased them, part / catalog number, price, etc. While happy with what we are using, I always try to keep an open mind and look for different ways to solve a problem.
