Inner Hull Drain ?????

Hi All
I did the inner hull drain to my 210 yestarday. As Triumph instructed me to do. One inch in the transom. This hole is full of hard foam nd all I'm getting is a steady drip. It's been dripping for two days now. Is this the way it's going to happen?????? Theres no where for the water to gather due to the solid foam. Just DRIP DRIP DRIP...........

Our old 210 streamed out water for like 3 days (I had installed 2 drains) and then dripped constant for weeks from what I recall. Then again, it had a lot of water in the hull and I could walk on the deck inside the mega hold and hear it squish around under my feet.

Now our 190 just had a little bit of water, but every time I take her out I always manage to get a few drips out of it. Change the angle of attack on your boat by jacking it up all the way, throw a jack stand under it, then use another spacer block under the jack and then jack it up some more. The higher you have the bow, the quicker it will drain... One has to remember though that unless you have a place to park her out of the rain (Like my buddy Ospery Vic) or a cover like I do, your going to pretty much have a drip if it keeps getting wet from washing and rain.

Nothing to worry about though cause from the ARK to the USS Enterprise, they all take on and leak some water Some (like ours) just don't go deep 6 like many will if they are all full of the stuff

Go Over To The Logic Forum And Read The Mod Detail There. If You Went Over 2-1/2 From Center And 1/1/2 Up FROM BOTTOM And Drilled All The Way Thru The HarD Transom Foam ,you Should Hit Soft Foam And Water. I Dont Think You Have Drilled Far Enough Thru The Transom YeT,
Cause You Will Need To DiG Out A Couple Inches Of Soft Foam For The Water To Collect At Before Running Out The Drain. Just Make Sure You Have Drilled To The Diminsions Per Logic Post And Advise Us .

The guys at Merritt Marine installed the transom plug in my 210 so I'm sure it is the right place. I haven't measured the exact location but it's on the centerline and about 1 1/2" from the bottom. GEAUX TIGERS!

Thanks Guys..... I called Triumph and they insisted that I measure 1" up the center line then 1/4" to the right and drill there. Thats what I have done. I did not drill all the way through. I drilled about 1 1/2" in and stopped. The foam core is still there. Do I need to drill deeper? Should the hole drill through into an opening?

Nick, It sounds to me that you have done everything right. The dripping is a good sign that you do not have a huge amount of water in the inner hull area. Be thankful for that. The only thing I would reccommend is to try and create a pocket of mucked out foam where the water can accumulate. Then when you open the drain plug, it will spill out. It will continue to drip some but that is ok. Once the inner hull is dried, it will drip less each time you pull the plug after boating. Remember that the pioneers of this fix had huge amounts of water in the hull before they realized it was a problem. When I did mine, it dripped a couple of days and that was that. Now when I open the plug, it hardly drips at all.

Thanks! I did dig the inside of the hole bigger so now I do have a pocket inside. So far it's dripped about a gallon of water. Thanks for the info and the tips. I'm currently getting my boat ready for our anual family vacation. Three weeks in the Florida keys fishing and diving. One more week and we're outta here!

Thanks again everyone

Okay i just bought everything for the inner hull drain. I have a question i see a couple different hole locations is one for a different year than the other or doesn't it matter? Being a machinist dimensions are everything and i want to get it right the first time.

Hi.
I did mine after calling Triumph. The rep's there told me that it sure be 1" up the center line then a 1/4" to the right. Mine 210 is a 2003 model. Triumph did not seem to be concerned about the year just the location. Looks like mine worked out ok so far. It's still drianing so I have not installed the plug as of yet. Good luck
