Dole-Fin ?

I have a 2003 210 with the Honda 130 4 Stroke. When loaded it seems to have trouble coming out of the hole to get on plane. Per the dealer the prop is correct. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone used one of those "Dole-Fin" on your boat? If so what brand / type?

Thanks Nick

Per the dealer the prop is correct. Does that mean it has the recomended prop on the engine or did he try different props to see what worked best with the boat motor setup. My dealer did not like the prop that came with the motor and tried some differant ones. He decicded that the 13 3/4 4 blade stainless 18 pitch worked the best, and I have no complaints on how the combonation preforms.

Nick,

Pull a site search on the words Dole-Fin and I think you will find several good threads on this very subject.

Tight Lines!

I've also got the BF130 but on a 190 Bay. Also have a Doel Fin. The Fin DOES help get up on plane. But the drawback for me has been increased drag and porpusing. My WOT max mph is 38. I've been up to 42mph but only with a light fuel load. Also, the Fin appears to cause porposing when I attempt to trim the motor beyond my max speed. For example, I'm doing 38 mph at 5,300 rpm. The motor can do 6,000, but trimming up to get there causes porposing. So I just live with a slightly slower rig in exchange for getting up on plane easier.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I've bought the "Stingray" hydrofoil. It's mounted and ready for testing. I hope it works well. My family and I are going to the Florida Keys for 3 weeks of fishing and diving. We leave this coming Satarday. When I get back I'll let everyone know how the Stingray did.

Thanks again Nick
