Water build-up

I know this is like beating a dead horse but I wish I can find a way to figure out why my hull foam is filling up wtih water. I drilled a hole according to the specs and installed the plug.
Everytime I go out in the water with the boat and let it drain afterwards, it drains gallons of water. It drains for almost two days. It creates a problem with the added weight and the boat has a difficult time going into plane.
The only place water is coming in is through the transom wells(sealed poorly maybe?) and inlets that lead to the baitwell and wash down. My thought is that the inlets might have exposed foam like the mega storage problem.
Is any one else experiencing this problem?
Thanks

Don’t pull the plug and wait for your boat and trailer to dry out then check the underside of your hull for leaks. My hull was actually cracked about 18” forward of the transom just port of the keel! My dealer welded it up under warranty. I still get some water from somewhere every trip but its so minor I don’t worry. If my boat stayed in the water it might concern me since it lives on the trailer I just pull the plug and let it drip.

Calico,

I'll check the underside again. There could be a small crack somewhere.

Thanks

keepinitreel,
when you say gallons of water leaks out, how much comes out initially? I too have a water issue but I don't think gallons come out. it seems I get just a bit every time right off (maybe 3 ounces) and then drip, drip, drip for a while! in fact I don't know if it ever stops, my boat is always outside and I suspect some gets in thru my rod holder that the cover doesnt stay on and also maybe in thru the mega hatch area. I am also wondering if when I installed the plug the rule didn't completely seal, I am planning to reseal at end of season or possibly next spring.

However I've never experienced trouble getting up on plane, but I also have a 200HP engine.

reel
the thru hull fittings are all placed in areas where the plastic is solid so these should not be issues except if bilge is getting lots of water inside.
i cannot imagine where "gallons" of water are coming but since it is an '01 there are a couple of areas in the logic section you might want to check .
although, the megga water usually comes from rain water or alot of washdown of the decks

I know that this issue has been brought up several times. But do any of you have link that has the transom plugs for sale? When I take receipt of my boat here right after the new year this is the first mod that I plan on doing but I wanted to purchase the right transom plugs so I didn't do it incorrectly.

Many Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike. I would suggest contacting the dealer you're buying the boat from or you can connect with Dick at Merritt Marine here in NC. Merritt has done the mod many times. They are also a great resource for non-current year Triumph/Logic items. If Merritt doesn't have it it's going to be hard to find!

Congrats on the boat!
