Why Buy?

After reading most all the posts in the Forums I understand allot of what you guys don't like about Triumph boats.....but the question is.....what is it that makes you choose it over other boats. I'm about to lay out 27K for a 2005 CC but after reading up on the boat I'm wondering.....why buy? There has got to be more reason than wondering if my boat will drain and betting my friends on how many gallons I will get out of the fish boxes and mega hatch. There has got to be more to the story than water retintion. So here's your chance.....make me a believer.
Thanks <*(((((><

In addition to all the stuff the dealer will tell you about Roplene... my biggest reason for going back to a Triumph is ease of care. I spend only minutes rinsing the salt water off of my rig after each use. That's it. No waxing or gel coat maintenance. And when I occaisionally decide to give her a bath, I can use the 'good stuff' that actually cleans off dirt (e.g. Simple Green). Can't do that with glass as harsh cleaners will strip off the wax. I've tried 'boat wash' and is sucks. Same stuff they sell as car wash to protect the wax but it won't cut through real dirt. I keep my boat on the trailer under a maple tree - get the picture?

Otherwise, I'm spoiled by the durability of the hull when beaching or banging around shallow and rocky coastline. Yeah, I'm sure aluminum hulls are tough - but heavy. Yeah, I know that Whalers and Grady's are tough hulls. But those rigs cost triple a Triumph.

I bought mine simply for the price i got alot of boat for 27k and i love it. I have had some problems but i never owned a boat i didn't have something to do to it. Its durable cleans up very easy and looks good. I get alot of people checking it out everytime i launch it. It handles great in the chop of the bay and rides smooth. I have 02 210 i believe some of the problems talked about here are fixed on the new models. I would buy another one. Take one for a ride and you will be pleasently surprized. Gradys are a great boat i think they start at 60k for a 21 footer i can have two triumphs at that price.

Value for the $, low maitenance & durability. As with all boats there are always a few problems. I have yet to see the perfect built boat.
PS I sent you an email.

If you accept the fact that there is no perfectly built boat boat and you find the configuration acceptable for your needs, you will be hard pressed to find as much for so little money. Throw in the near zero maintenance and it gets real attractive. The boats are easy to work on and a large part of what you are seeing here is that fact. You have folks asking and trading solutions on the inevitable problems (cracked fittings and leaky pumps are not ususally a Triumph problem) because they can do it themselves. The actual number of folks with water in the hull is minimal and is only an issue because of a most of us believe some water is inevitable, so we put in drains that we really do not need. It takes guts to drill a hole in you hull ( easily done in plastic) and that accounts for the majority of the wailing and gnashing of teeth. I'm not in a 21', but it seems that the biggest issue is water in fishboxes. If thats the biggest problem it does not begin to offset everything else.

And you will really appreciate the fact its plastic the first time you bounce it off a dock( and you will sooner or later).

Thumbs up Why Buy?

I have a 2004 210 CLE and I have not had a single problem with the boat after almost two seasons. No water retention in the splashwells (or anywhere else). I push my boat hard on big bodies of water (Superior and Michigan) and it's always a thrill. People are interested and always ask questions. And I really appreciate the hull technology. It's a tough boat that catches fish. Additionally, my entire family (six in total) is perfectly comfortable in the boat when we pursue non-fishing types of recreation. A great value for the dollar with all of the performance of the Whaler's and Grady's. It would have to be a prettey compelling value proposition for me to consider switching brands.

Cheers

I to have owned fiberglass boats in the past, these boats have some problems as do all boats, the few problems can be over come without big bucks...I own a 01 210 logic..If you have a chance take one for a test ride do it, I think the boat wil sell itself, they ride like a much larger and heavier boat..
try it you will like it...

when you can ride in your seat in water conditions that has everyone standing and in the case of a certain glass boat i test drove not have your shorts ending up at your knees on each bone crushing wave , then you will know why we choose these boats. i have found that the boat runs better fast in the rough stuff than i have the nerve to push it .

the earlier models of the 21ft center console had issues and triumph has addressed them and improved the boats for the most part with new model year. the 2006 has been dressed up better than any model year yet. we as a group of owners have set up a special section for those with these early models to refer to for upgrades and improvements as well as what to be aware of that could be problematic
i have taken my '01 210cc and done every upgrade the factory has introduced in subsequent years myself and never once felt that it was more than i was capable of.

the nature of ropolene has characteristics unique to it and therefore you really cant compare it to fiberglass. as long as you understand that screws can be stripped out more easily if you overtighten them, and may back out due to flexing, but they are also capable of being reinstalled with a heat gun and roplene powder or ropelene rod. cant reuse a stripped out hole of the same screw size in fiberglass w/o alot of work.

yes customer service has issues, but and i would love to see more factory interaction with us owners at some level . we could point out thru out day to day use of these boats what they are doing right and what they need to improve on. i would love to have a group of us be invited up to the plant for a weekend and spend time learning how they are made and share our ideas with them on how to improve them.
anyway, you will have 900+ fellow owners to rely on for any help you may need beyond the warranty issues.

this is my second triumph and i have yet to see anyone take a 21 ft fiberglass boat and "drive" it 3/4 the way out of the water onto a pier as in the video i saw at my triumph dealer.these are tough yet the softest riding boats i have ever been on. as i put on an earlier post ,i spent last weekend on an 8 month old 23 ft sailfish and found both bilge pumps not working properly, and the bolsters stripped out of the gunnel.
that is a $47,000 boat that is practically new and yet with problems. makes my issues alot smaller when i only have less than half as money much in mine and i can go dang near anywhere he can go.

i suggest you take a test ride on a nasty rough day and you will instantly see why we love these boats. and, make sure you got a belt on if you go out on the same day on a century

You guys are great. I can't believe I got so many replys! I agree with all of you. I have been sold on this boat since day one. I think this web site is one of the best selling tools the boat could have. Hopefuly early in 2006 I will be the owner of a brand new 2006 CC. Then I can join the family for real. As of now I just read all ya'll posts and think the web site and the boat are amazing. Thanks again....see ya on the water! Cat<*(((((><
