We just recieved the TPI today courtesy of Bennett Marine and Tabman 2 and will be installing trim tabs as well as the TPI and will let you know the upgrades. This is on a 190 Bay so you can figure.

I have completed the install of the tabs and TPI on my 190 and will be posting pictures. After having the boat out I can say that the tabs do have quite an effect on the ride. The boat was loaded light this last trip so I could not reap the full benefit of the M80 tabs.

trim tabs a must for logic 210ccs

if you own a 210cc logic with the 80 gal fuel tank and you use the livewell and you fill the boat up 40-50 lb. stripers and cobia , you will definately want to put trim tabs on.they will help you balance the load w/o having to keep moving people all over the place and with all the weight on the rear and the bow already light the tabs will help get you on plane quicker and get the bow down when the seas get ugly.
Regarding tab brands, first i want to thank tabman for his support to this site as well as the old one. you have been a great friend and your customer support is superb.
However, i opted for lenco tabs because i could route the power cables on the transom and not "loose " the storage space of the rear boxes by having hydraulic lines running thru them. ---just a personal preference i guess..
i have read that bennets hold up better if the boat is left in the water full time , but i trailer my boat so that is not an issue either.
i do recommend that you spend the extra money to get the indicator switch for which ever brand you choose. to be able to see the position of each tab has saved me many times from going the wrong way with the balance and getting on plane

Trim Tabs

I have a 03' 210 and I purchased the boat with no trim tabs. Fishing in 4 to 6 foot seas and Slamming the bow into the unforgiving ocean fishing for kingfish, I started to become curious about how trim tabs work and how they might be a good thing to try out. 6 months after owning my boat I got 9x12 Lenco trim tabs. HUGE difference. It was like I owned a different boat. The command I had over the pitch of the bow, in following seas and going aganist a hard chop. Also more control when I had an uneven load. Even in really rough seas it felt like we would land off a wave softer than before. I cant say enough great things about trim tabs. They truly are worth every penny, and your back, ankles and knees will thank you.

Sami, I just purchased a 2006 215 and plan to install the Bennet 18x9 trim tabs on the hull. I understand that Bennett shipped you a set as a promo. Did you bolt them on yet and if so, what have you found to date. Installation hints? I also plan to install the NEMA 2000 indicator units so that I can view the tab position on my 339 Lowrance unit.

Trim Tabs

I think the 18X9 tabs are too big for that boat. Bennett recommends the M120 tabs.

I wrote Bennett directly and they responded with the 18x9 recommendation. I asked about both models and they recommended the 18x9 as the optimum set, set as far outboard as is practical. I'd forward the e=mail but it was sent to my work e-mail and I didn't send it to my regular e-mail address.

They stated taht the M 120 tabs would do but for maximum effect, best gas mileage, etc, the 18x9's are the ultimate! In fact they gave full installation instructions and seemed to understand the construction of the 215 as if they had a blueprint. Unfortunately, I'm still too new to the boat and will have to read and look, read and look, etc.
