This is the first year I put trim tabs on a 215 CC Dealer Demo (I am a dealer) and "You Do Not Need Them"

But they sure are very nice!!!!!!!

More than half of the buyers of 215's from me have purchased them since I started demo-ing with them.

The trim tabs give you (the Captain) so much more room to "Work the Boat" and the waters that "All of my Dealer Demo 215 CC" will always have them.

If you purchased a 210 or 215 without them, do not sweat it, they are very easy to add to your boat. The new Lenco Electric Trim Tabs are Great!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my boat since 2003. Bought trim tabs 2004, wasted one year one the water. I don't weigh in often here, but will now.

Buy em. You'll never look back. (except to admire your improve wake)

The biggest thing in when running into the swell you drop em a bit and it makes you run into the trough quicker. This eliminate the bow slap. I have gott'n used to using them all the time.

Which is best?

I have procrastinated over trim tabs for the past 5 yrs. After what I've read, I am having Lenco's installed this week. One question...which type is best--eletronic or hydraulic?

Dont know about which is best but just make sure you get tab indicators.. lets you know their position. Its hard to judge where they are after moving them up and down.

hey tab man or anyone else that has them installed

my instructions said to split the chine dead center and yet all the pics i see have the units on the edge of the outside chine. i want to move mine out further but wonder if it is worth the bother for whatever gain. am i right in thinking that the further towards the outside the more responsive they are??
just wondering if it will free up my disturbed water around the transducer

I to read that in my instructions and i went to a dealer and took pictures of a 210 with them installed and they are at the edge of chine. I installed them that way have not had the boat out to see if they work yet. I hope i didn't make a mistake.

Reference shot of factory installed trim tabs on a 210

Just for a reference shot, my trim tabs were factory installed on my 210. this shot was taken when I first got the boat back to house.

Now that I posted the picture, I should comment on how they well they work. I should note I was an owner of a 210 Logic (2000) that did not have trim tabs. So when I ordered my 210 Triumph (2004) I added the trim tabs to the package. Without a doubt I “Highly” recommend them.

My boat is only used for saltwater fishing which includes both bay and offshore locations. Hence, I am dealing with choppy conditions on a regular basis. Being fortunate enough to live on West Galveston Bay, my boat is on the water at least once a week. During the time I have had the trim tabs, I would say they are used about 30 to 40% of time and are used for one of two reasons. The first and foremost reason I use them to keep the bow down in choppy conditions. They do an outstanding job of eliminating the boat slap I had become accustom to with my Logic. They also allow for better handling in rougher seas because more of the boat remains in the water. The second thing I use them for is balance, I think all of use have had fishing companion that does not match us in weight, and therefore the boat will lean to one side when running. The trim tabs again right the boat and improves handling. I really can’t imagine not having them.

Cheers

I figured I would throw my opinion into the ring. Trim tabs are one of the best investments you will ever make. There is a slight learning curve to using them properly, but it is so worth while. My 215cc has the lenco's and I love em. Bennet makes a product also. Either ones you decide to get, buy the proper size get them positioned for your boat correctly. The difference is amazing.
