Unofficial Poll Trim Tabs on a 210/215?

Hi all!

Well, we've been sitting around our office debating whether or not a 21 foot Triumph needs Trim Tabs on it. Some of the office feels like all boats 21 foot and over should have them, and the other half say that you need a bigger heavier boat. So I thought I'd put the question out there for our Triumph community to answer. Please give me some feed back, I'd like to know what you think. Also, if you want to call and leave us your imput you can call the numbers listed below. Happy Boating Triumph Owners!
-Sam

I highly recommend them. They really help in balancing out the ride. I've got 12x12 Lenco's on my 210 but that is overkill. 9x12's would be fine. I've heard good things about Bennett and Lenco. I wish I had the money for the Lenco Trolling tabs.

My 2004 210 CLE came equiped with Bennett trim tabs and I've used them in numerous situations to improve performance. I'm convinced that I would choose to install them on my boat if it had not come with trim tabs.

trim tabs

I strongly recomend them, they add a new deminision to the boat you can adjust them according to conditions and load,,,I have always had bigger boats with them, they came installed on my 01 logic 210cc and I really enjoy them...its an option that you need to have...

just put Bennett M120s on my 2000 Logic 210/2003 Yamaha 200 HPDI this spring. definitely enjoy having them. don't always use them, but when the seas get sloppy they really help out. mainly use them to keep the bow down and reduce the porpoising action that occurs heading into a chop.
would definitely recommend.

Dealer talked me out of them for my 02 210 sorry i listened to him. I sure could use them in the bay with the chop.

Cool

Well,

It kinda seems like a landslide decision. I have to be honest that i'm still not sold on them. When we made the crossing over to the Bahamas the 3 21 footers that went didn't have them. I wonder what the owners of those boats feel. Thanks for your replies! If there are more people out there who have something to say let us know! I apprieciate it!

Sam,

I'm Thomas and I work for Bennett Marine in the Client Service department.

Of course, we believe trim tabs are a great choice to install on all vessels, since they broaden the operating range of the vessel to dial in the best running attitude for the sea conditions at hand and correct any uneven/overloaded situations that you always have in real world boating. For this reason; I have an offer for you that will answer your question perfectly! We (Bennett Marine) will provide a set of M120 Sport Tabs to you (No Charge) for one of your 210/215 demo boats, so you will be able to better understand why trim tabs are one of the best upgrades you can install on a vessel! All we ask of you is to report back on this thread your sea trial findings. If you decide to accept the kit, please contact me at the phone number &/or email address below to work out the details.

We look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
MJ Thomas

Thumbs up

Thomas, What a great offer for Sam. I hope he'll take you up on it. It would benefit all the membership to hear an evaluation of your product. I want to thank you again for contributing a set of Sport Tabs and a Tab Indicator switch a couple months back that were given away to a couple of fortunate Captain's Club members. Your support of the site is much appreciated.

Randy
