NCangler,

Thanks for the photos. This answers the questions that most of us had. Still the engine is a big question. I am hoping that it can handle the larger 250 or 300 4 strokes. It is very pretty and I like the console, but I agree with the others that the front looks a bit tight. I am sure it looks/feels different in person.

Thanks again for the photos and all you do here.

I am getting some feedback on the coolers, etc. and will try to post an update with photos next week. I have gotten a confirmation that the 235 can handle up to a 300hp 4-stroke on the back. I can't wait to see the boat myself.

To be honest, dont think testing this boat, for the 200 hours they plan, in the Gulf of Mexico will work. The boat needs to be in North Carolina and run to Big Rock everyday no matter the conditions. The "overall feeling" is management is rushing the boat to production-release for early spring. 200 hours in the Atlantic off N.C. coast is vastly different than running the the mid-west gulf coast and Fl east coast, N.C. would be a preferable litmus test. The boat is going to be a tough sell amongst experienced offshore fisherman that know what they're looking for in a offshore boat. A single motor option only is a concern, especially with the competition the 23 market offers where most boats are twin "option" type set-up's, especially when it comes to SKA. Triumph is going to have to compete with Scout, Contender, Donzi, Wellcraft, Hydra-Sport, McKee, MayCraft.. we'll have to see how this pans out.

I like the new boat. Definitly would be considering a "kicker" for trolling and as a back-up for offshore travels since only one big motor. I like the in floor fish boxes and the storage under the front seats might be insulated ice boxes as well....plenty of room for food and drink and smokers and hoo's. With modern motors, the trend is pushing for single engines due to great reliability and due to the increased weight....only have one engine in my truck but have OnStar and cell phone if I break down....and BoatUS, DSC, PEPRIB if on the water. We need SeaTow and BoatUS to cover farther distances in the Gulf and relay cell towers on top of oil platforms for easy 100 mile coverage. Think it is only 25 miles now....not good. Gets you only to about 100' water if your lucky.

SKA, this boat will work and in the class of 23 under, there are plenty of weekend warriors running singles and they will be getting to the fishing grounds late even with twins compared to the 36' cc's with triple 300's.
Initially they considered designing an engine bracket for twins but dropped that idea. Depending on the size of the gas tank, a single may give you more range anyway.

This can be a real deal if loaded with a 300hp Zuk, al trailer with ss disc brakes, tee top etc for @50k.....they'll sell plenty but if they try to go head to head with the above mentioned brands in Procon's reply, only the die hard current Triumph owners might move up. I feel Triumph should be priced comparatively to Angler boats. How much is Triumph willing to back tournament fishermen and people who use their product with success? A few headlining winners of some tournaments and people will start getting interested.

The baitwell in leaning post will be nice for some folks, is that the only livewell? An ice chest/tackle station would be a great option with the livewell in the transome for some others. Sure can't wait to see one at the dealer and check out all the hatches and attention to detail. I would have thought a bow pulpit with anchor would be standard but sure it will be available.

So, it is nice and I would like one but.... the wife and child and now....my newest addition to the family due in September want a galley, shower/head, beds etc... so I maybe looking for a mothership.

Congratulations to Triumph and their development team!

Don't quote me on this but I believe you are right about the two forward hatches being used as ice boxes and I believe they will drain overboard. I also believe there are (2) 100 qt. storage boxes off the transom. This will be very useful space for ice or gear. More details will appear this week along with more photos. Stay tuned!

I went to Jacksonville's show last Friday and talked to Ric Taylor from Triumph. They finished the first production boat and it should list for about $52K with the 4 stroke 250 yamaha.

Nice pictures. I like the larger fish boxes. Can't wait to see it in person. I do question the fishing/deck space. A much larger boat, what is the sq. ft. on the deck? I also like the closed transom. I hope to make it to Miami. If I do I'll get more pic's to share.

I agree, I like the layout of the 215. Kinda seems a little tight from the photos. Twins on the back would be ideal.

Very close on the list, dealer cost will be $50K no options/base MSRP. Add anywhere between 15 to 26% for dealer mark-up then add options. Draining 2 boxes into the rear boxes is not the best engineering call. One plug up at the macerator and all 4 boxes could be backed-up. Boat left in water, boxes fill up with residual water, water will stay until pumped out by the owner. Overboard drains should be on the raised boxes. Note no over-board drains on the boat from what can be viewed in the pictures. Those in the SKA circuit will find the bait tank lid rather small. Ever try to chase a live pogy through a small opening.

Molarboater, why even put a kicker on as a "back-up for offshore" if you had access to a modern outboard? I'm confused with that as that is condradictory. Hard to see a trend or mass exodus to singles at all to be honest when it comes to the old arguement twin v.s. single powerplant. Fact is, there are actually more twin engined 23 class boats on the market then there have ever been and mostly 4 strokes now. Any offshore fisherman worth his salt will tell you without hesitation, twins. Opinion is twin or single works, but to have one option only - single, then you will need to have all that you mention. Eprib, SeaTow, DSC. I've yet to see Suzuki as a force to rekon with on the SKA, Too many Yamaha's and Mercury's on the circuit from North Carolina down to the Florida coast and well into Mississippi. Dominant motors, and to mention winning motors are Mercury and Yamaha. ETEC well on it's way, Suzuki? that's laughable. SKA v.s. recreational use, two different animals and nowhere near a fair comparision.
SKA boats re-power annually if not bi annual, that's even if the team keeps that boat that long - profesionally. Simply playing devils advocate here.

Triumph 23 has nice lines. Nice boat, but may be a bit off the mark for hardcore fisherman looking for that "World's Toughest" moniker. At the price it will be a hard sell for what you get to the experienced crowd. For first time boaters or those on a budget, the 23 may be a perfect compromise as a near shore boat to fill in between hardcore and recreational fishing-cruising.
Advertising and sales have their work cut out for them for sure

add: post note - I really hoped this boat came with a coffin box or in-floor front fish box up front like the mega storage on the 215, but longer instead of square. Raised though are what it is.
