Really depends on the size of anchor and amount of chain you got - not size of boat. Use the ring sold separately with the ball and this technique. It helps and makes a world of difference. I used a cabriner and lose two anchors this way. The ring the deal.
Remeber you run a 1/4 cirle around the anchor posit to pull out backwards. Pulling straight against the anchor even with a ball does nothing. Be surprise how many do this wrong in the Delaware Bay. Alot of balls can be found floating in the bay during Bass chunking season. ![]() Dont cleat off from the stern EVER!! to raise the anchor. Clear the prop with the anchor line with good helmsman steering (I Have a rod rigger that makes sure the line clears the prop). West Marine guys can help. Boater World guys don't seem to know ... |
