I just purchased a 235 in May, found some of the same problems out of the hole. I tried a dolphin fin but slowed the boat & raised RPM's and the boat leaned to port side out of the hole. I removed the dolphin fin & dropped the motor down one slot on transom. I recorded speeds & RPM's & compared to original height. Some were better than others but over-all I like the hole shot better and performance with the motor in the 2nd transom hole. Triumph says it should be in the third hole but I had better performance in slot 2 and this is where I left it. I haven't tried a 17 pitch but would like to hear from someone who has.
