We've had 42 inches of rain so far this season, my chickens are starting to quack like ducks and I'm about ready to grow flippers.

Jan nailed it!!

OK, I saw the ads at Merritt's on Friday. Dump the three pigs. The shark ad looks to be a Yamaha ad because the motor, etc is at the top of the page is lighter that the rest of the page. The boat is so small in the upper left corner you wouldn't know it was a Triumph unless you were an owner. Couldn't make out the name on the boat either. The Triumph name looks to be bass ackwards along the left lower edge of the page. PUT it boldly across the bottom of the page.

There was a good quote that I liked cause I wrote it down: "When it really starts to blow, having a virtually indestructible boat doesn't suck".
I think this was on the piggy ad.

I bought my boat, Logic 186, cause it was lighter than any boat in it's size range. A good point if you are towing with a smaller truck. I got it for low maintance and it's the 4x4 of boats. "I can go where most boats don't dare" has been what I've said for the past three years to others on the water.

Yes, please read what we owners have posted on this site to get an insight on our boats and why we chose them. Then, have Triumph take you for a ride in really bad sea/lake conditions. Gee, I bet there are some folks here that will take you for a real world boat ride!

The Neuse River will beat you up some days. But not too bad in a Triumph!

AstroD, I have to admit, that's a pretty good quote. I guess most of us agree that the ad is just too busy.

Also, why are Yamaha's advertised on 80% of all boats? There is so little difference between motors these days so why do the factories feel they need to alienate their product by tying it to one motor brand. Unless.....the motor company is also paying for the advertisement.

I would rotate the motor manufacturer with every ad, with a minimum of 4 different ads per year. Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and whatever. Guess since Boston Whaler bought Mercury they are kinda stuck....not to say Mercury is not worthy but not sure if Genmar will ad a motor owned by another boat company. See what I am getting at?

I did look at the Triumph web site and think it is nice. The info and things were a little on the one sentance too short stuff but in a way thats good, especially for a print ad in a magazine. A link to previous years official web sites would be nice too to check up on buying used boats.

Thanks for the honest feedback! We are showing the boats for what they are, The World's Toughest Boats, in interesting and unusual contexts. While doing this, we also are trying to create work that stands out from the ads that are currently in boating/fishing/outdoor publications - they ALL look exactly the same. While you may not like the 3 Pigs ad (which I'm totally cool with!), it draws your attention and you remember it. The goal of the campaign is to create awareness about Triumph, and we think we're doing that. As far as the Yamaha inclusions, they pay for a significant portion of the ad if that toolbar is included. Unfortunately it is something that has to be there.

I am trying to check on these boards as often as I can because you are our most valuable resource and this is truly a tremendous site. I've met many of you (at least on the dealer side), and look forward to meeting more of you in the future. For those of you who spoke about On the Water, we'll be in there beginning in February. Thanks for being so passionate about the brand!

I'll check out the Feb issue of On the Water. I've had three different people ask me about Triumph up here in the Northeast after attending the Hartford boat show. Apparently we're getting better representation now.

Mike, what other boating publications will you be advertising in? I think I'm the only owner on this site that is not a "fisherman". I use my boat for scuba diving, cruising around , Geocaching and camping.
I take photos & video of the fish and the other stuff down there.
See: www.pbase.com/astrodiver for examples.

[I have a fishing license just in case I try it. I own a Shimino reel and a rod, but have no clue as to what I'm doing.]

Thanks for reading our responses and I hope it helps.
