Triumph has advertised in Boating World several times over the last few years. Saw them the backcrackers office. It has been a while though.

MiKE,
I can only speak for my part of my little world. I work with a bunch of guys who almost everyone of them fish in there off time, thats what got me hooked on fishing. They own every thing from G3,sea fox, cape horn, Carolina skiff(witch is what I was going to buy),sea ark, and every boat in-between. When I bought my boat, everybody knew what it was, it was that plastic boat. NOBODY knew what it could do. Now a lot of my coworkers that I have taken out, are a little jealous. I think the point I'm trying to make is, your experienced boater knows the name, your novice(like myself) was looking for selling points. Why not show what the boat can do, then sell the name.
Just my opinion!

addendum,
This is a geoarea that you may want to focus on. We have such shallow water, our boats are quite suited for flats fishing. I would say the 190 and below. Unlike the flat bottom skiffs,I can go out a lot further and most of the time go more skinny.

Not to beat this dead horse too much but......why not put in huge bold print, "LIFETIME transferrable WARRANTY". Geez guys, there are not too many boats that go past 6 years or even 10.

Force the other guys to put up or shut up, make it THE issue then see if the competition can keep up. They won't, the world's toughest boats can only have a lifetime warranty, no one else will make that claim with a 3-10 year warranty, right?

Remember, 75% of all boat sales are "used" boats and new boats sales will be based on how those used boats are doing and if the factory stands behind their words.

That's value in the bank to buy a Triumph new.

I think the idea of putting the LIFETIME transferable WARRANTY part into the add is a good idea. With that said I truly feel the "factory" needs to spend some time figuring out a way to address the many issues with their past boats. As most people that own a 2004 or earlier 190/186 would attest these are not the maintenance free boats we thought we were buying. I wouldn't mind a little extra washing if I didn't have to put extra screws and re-caulk my floor boards every year to keep water out of the bilge. It sounds like I own a wooden boat. Not to mention the periodic checking of the tightness of screws throughout the boat. This is a good precaution but for our boats its more of a necessity. Not to mention the hull deflections which the factory says there is no big deal or the self bailing feature which is more of self filling feature. And how about these rod holders that not only hold rods but water as well it shouldn't have been that big a deal to solve this during manufacturing.

Don't get me wrong, I like my boat and am willing to put up with these issues as long as they don't become more serious than they currently are. While I appreciate the fact that I can run my boat into a dock or beat the tar our of it with a bat, I don't really plan on doing either. What sold me was that I got more boat for my money than I did with other manufacturers. I think that if I knew all the issues I would deal with later on I probably would have made a different choice.

So for now I am a content Triumph owner; happy would be a stretch. Those that bought newer models where the factory has solved many of our original problems I am certain you will be delighted. I just wish I were .

Bottom line ad-guys, I wouldn't talk too much about what the factory has done in the past. I feel we have see a very poor response!

I finally saw the shark ad in "On the Water" magazine which I subscribe to. Good choice on the magazine by the way. I don't like the ad however. You need to make the font larger in which you talk about the boat, and make the word "Triumph" larger so people know what they are looking at. It does look more like a Yamaha ad than a Triumph ad. I will say it is effective in drawing attention however, as it stands out more than all the other boat ads.

maybe show a bit more of the boat as well. but maybe this will come in future ads, this why I am not in advertising.

I saw a new add for Triumphs in my recent issue of Louisiana Sporstman; it showes an M1 towing a Triumph through the desert. The logo said something about the boat not having additional armor ......

they forgot to mention in BOld

Seems Triumph forgot to mention that only two owners can have some type of protection.
I as a third owner would have been proud to pay the $ for a warrenty but after a few conversations with the so called we stand behind our prouducts people I still am having to deal with all the screw ups the factory has brought to production. Same being said I do enjoy my Triumph but I have seriously thought about another brand for my next upgrade. I am tired of repairing leaks and worring about the deflections that look as if Billy Joe Bob made the vessel in his back yard out of plastic bottles. Water out of the inner hull drain that has never stopped, and how many times will I have to redo my floor boards? twice a year seems a bit high, oh my fault the manufacture must have used really small print that says ( warrning boats made by us are not recomended for hot climates) darn I thought Arizona was the perfect temp.
