Triumph Ads

Hello All -

I'm from Triumph's ad agency here in NC and wanted to see what you all thought of the latest magazine ad campaign. We've run two ads so far (one with a shark, one with a 3-pigs-style cartoon) and one more will be coming in the Spring. Please don't hold back good or bad - I'd love to hear your honest feedback! Thanks!

MiKE

I saw your ad in NC Sportsman and was taken back. Finally, an ad that looks different for a different and better boat.

I think the Three Pig ad is awful, linking this hi-tec boat to a children's poem is missing the point that Dealers have been trying to make since Logic/Triumph's introduction in 1995. This is a serious product, not a kids Toy! Dealers and owners are always having to dispute lies and accusations about their Triumphs. If you question what I'm saying here just check out what's being said on the Hull Truth site. If you were trying to be cute I think you missed the boat. The ad with the Shark is better, however, if I were not a Triumph dealer and known about the ad, I would think it's a Yamaha ad. People don't turn pages sideways and don't carry magnifying glasses to read the text. I left it out on the counter and no one gave it a second glance.

Is there a link to these ads online? I subscribe to "Saltwater Sportsman" and "On the Water" here in New England.

I heard that there were some ads and I've been looking but have seen nothing. Guess I'll have to look at Dick Cabble's copy when I'm up there tomorrow on Friday. I'm coming Dick and I've got money to spend.

I saw the shark ad and thought it was kind of cool once I realized it was a Triumph ad. My personal priorities are price, durability and ease of maintenance in that order. that’s what sold me at the boat show.

I have not seen the advertisements, but would sure like to. Is there a way they could be posted on this site?

I am not trying to be smart or say anything off color, but I would like to suggest that the advertising company for Triumph spend a lot of time reading the Forum postings and the Articles on this site.

See why the people that are posting on this site love their plastic boats.

My guess is that if you sell what the current owners like, and sell why they purchased a Triumph, and why they would buy another Triumph, that would be a killer sales campaign.

I understand it costs money to have a good, and we hope GREAT, advertising person sit and read for a day or two, but I firmly believe it would be money well spent.

Dick Cabble nailed my thoughts

It's good to see Triumph advertising. But, out of all of the thousands of advertising possibilitys to showcase these boats "The three little pigs and the big bad wolf!" maybe for Nickelodeon, then again I'm not 100% sure who the targeted audience is here
The wind?
You could of at least had a heavy hitter from MLB hitting the boat with a baseball bat!

I have yet to see the shark ad
I saw the 3 little pigs add in Great Lakes Angler Magazine/Jan 2006, page 33

I'm with Osprey and Calico. I bought mine for the price, durability and features (fishability). The soft ride and ease of maintenance didn't hurt.

The answer as to whether the catchy ad or the serious buyer ad are better or worse than the other is a tough one. I look at ads that are cute but I buy based on good solid information.

Did anyone else see the CSI episode last night (1/19). I am sure it was a 210CC that they used in the water scenes. Name was missing but it was hard to miss the design.
