Why does Triumph get a bad rap???

Hello, I am a Triumph 210 owner of 3 years and also own other boats up to 35' loa. Here is what I don't get. Everytime someone post a "Triumph" question on other bulletin boards, the Triumph gets bashed. It's like "Fly's on a $!-*Wagon", here they come ready to badmouth. Ignorance loves company. I know what the Triumph is and its a great, purpose built, tough mutha of a boat. That's what I bought it for. If I want high fashion, polish and glitz, then I'll use my other boat. When I want to sling fish and pull the kids around....I head straight for my fun machine...The Triumph. See ya on the water.

My opinion is, people are not so quick to change opinons on what comes out new. Even though triumph / logic has been out for a while. Bottom line is let them bash, we know we paid less for a boat of the same size. We also know that we have more storgae space, We also know that we get better gas milage due to the weight of our boats. We also know we can beach, / accidently run aground without damage to our hulls. They can not say that..so they get all mad. so let them be who they are. And for those who have not gotton a triumph ...do it soon, as usual these prices for the boats will not always be so cheap. In fact they are going up each year. So the cheap factor of the equasion will soon be out.

I guess if the world all owned plastic boats and we were the only ones that had fiberglass, the responses would be the same.

since '01 i think i've heard every derog statement that's been said about the fantastic plastic--unfortunately lately from it's former greatest supporter.
my local glass dealer and his whole sales team give me a load of grief everytime i go in there to get rule or parts for my 25hp outboard. bucket of plastic, recycled lawn chairs-- you name it -- i've heard it all.
however, lately i've taken to carrying in my alum. ball bat to remind them that i'm still waiting for my one swing at a 32' fountain after they get 10 swings at my 210cc-----still no takers yet
the entry level mind set will always be there until triumph successfully cooks up a 23+ size boat.
they could have taken over the under 23 ft market years ago if they hadn't try to get all that return on investment by jacking the prices instead of building a lot of boats at a lower price. just my thoughts on this and not the views of triumphowners.net(got to look out for my main man randy!!!!)

Talking Submit your Triumph photo/story

Hey folks. The good folks at Triumph told me that if any of you would like to submit a photo of you and your boat along with a testimonial or story about why you love your Triumph, you can do so by going to this link:

http://www.triumphboats.com/index.cfm?page=theScoopHP

Then click on "Submit Your Own Story". You can upload the photo and your story and it might be posted on the Triumph Boat site.

Well I really don't care about what other people say about triumphs I love my 210. I watch my neighbors wax and polish there boats and all I do is power wash mine.
I catch just as many fish, I go just as fast and just as far as they do. The difference between there boat and mine theirs cost more and when they hit the dock they crack I bounce.
I have been around boats all my life and Triumph is a very good tough boat and i would buy another one.
Every year the marine police come over when im out fishing to check our fish and life jackets and safety gear its always the same guy and he always tells me that he loves our boat.
So people who bash really don't know what they are missing.

IL-LOGIC-AL GGC,
"the entry level mind set will always be there until triumph successfully cooks up a 23+ size boat."

I was up at Merritt Marine last Friday and asked about the 230. It's in the works. Triumph is desigining the mold. I can't wait to see what they come out with. I wonder if I will be able to afford one?

Talking hey joe!----this aint the philippines joe

for those of you that haven't read the other boating site's forums that biggrin
was referring to,and from where i gleaned the "entry level" comment as bad as i hate to give credit to someone overthere that coined the phrase, i'll elaborate as to what they were eluding to.
the majority of glass owners think triumph is a great boat for those starting out boating and/or those not wanting to put a alot of money into "quality non- flexing ,bright ,shinny, high maintainence '60's technology ect., ect., ect.,fiberglass boats"----you get the drift.

that mind set is not going to change imo until they see something -- the new 215,195 and windsors are certainly helping ---like a windsor c.c with higher gunnels and set up for the ocean or larger cc models. sadly they will be priced out of the range of the average joe, but come to think of it i couldnt be more happy to know all almost 1200 of you average joes

If I were looking at an entry level boat and only went by the magazine ads I would take a hard look at Angler boats. The price and straight talk options, etc is what caught my eye in 2002 about Triumph and their ads then.

Those boats take a beating as well on THT and FloridaSportsman, but far as I can tell they are good complete boats and trailers, they couldn't survive a "bat" test though, haha.
