That sounds great John and I really appreciate you sharing your findings and it sounds like I really need to order a set for mine for sure
Now how about your light coverage running fore and aft now? Are you getting light form the trolling motor battery box all the way back to the rear casting deck? Just wondering since many LED bulbs I have used "usually" have a very narrow beam of light.. And if real narrow, I wonder if a lens replacement / upgrade on the console lights would be or any help? Thanks much!

You said, "Now how about your light coverage running fore and aft now?" I'm not sure what you mean? I have a bimini top, not a T-top. No overhaed lights. "Are you getting light form the trolling motor battery box all the way back to the rear casting deck? I don't have a trolling motor battery or a trolling motor. See, I don't really fish. I've practiced. Isn't that what you call it when you don't catch anything? I purchase a license every year just in case there is a rod onboard and 'The Man' should stop me and ask to see a fishing license. I do have dual batteries in the back with a battery switch. When I install the extra LED lights, they will run off the fuse box inside the console I installed, since my Logic 186 didn't come with one. As far as the courtsy lights go, mine are located just above the console rod holders. The light shines out against the inside of the gunwales. Understand? Would you like me to post a photo? I may be installing the scuba tank racks today and photos will be in order there. I'll take a photo of the bulb in the socket it's self. "Just wondering since many LED bulbs I have used "usually" have a very narrow beam of light" I'll try to make a night shot of the light pattern from the new bulbs so you can see how they perform. There are 6 LEDs in the bulb. See attached photo. I hope this helps so far....... |

Yes,
We are talking about the same lights John and no, I don't have a T-Top either... I was just wondering if you were getting light in a broad beam shining down on the deck area "in-between" the casting decks and just not some narrow beam of light that shines like a spot light on each side of the console.

OK, go to the member's galleries and take a look at the photos I shot after the sun went down today. One is of the replacement bulb it's self (off), another shows what it's like in the boat with just a light from the side of the house from 20 feet away and the other is with the LED replacement blub lighting up inside the boat. The house light is on, but you can't really tell. Notice that the woods are dark in the background. The shots were taken sitting in the front console seat.
I took a shot of the bulb while it was on....what was I thinking? These shots should give you an idea of the lighting. |

Just got mine installed tonight and they are GREAT. I got 4 of the 194 style bulbs thinking that 4 would cover all of my lights, but could only use 3 so now I have a back up bulb if ever needed... So it looks like I need to order a 3022x4 LED bulb for my running light, but I am going to call first to make sure.
What is really great is I now have light all over my deck (unlike before) and in the past I was thinking I was going to have to "add" more console lights to cover the blind spots. Well now, I have plenty of light from the forward battery box to the rear casting deck AND they do not wipe out my night vision after looking at them... They also draw next to nothing current wise and will not change color over time either I also installed one 194 replacement bulb in my anchor light and it is plenty bright enough. The only thing I found is that you may need to pull them out and turn them 180 degrees to get the most amount of light from them in any one spot, but that is easy enough to do and test in any of these 3 light positions on the 190 Bay. So as I was telling Astro Diver (John) tonight in the chat room. This was the best 20 bucks (including shipping) that I have spent on any upgrade in a long time and I highly recommend getting them from www.superbrightleds.com ![]() Thanks again for the tip John!

For future reference, check the GE catalogs for the size/type of bulbs that you may have.
http://www.gelighting.com/na/busines..._beam_catalog/ You will have to check each catalog section for your selection on the above link. Be sure to note the dimensions of 'your bulb'. This will help to match what you want in an LED replacement. As in the Festoon bulb front Nav light, the original is 31mm x 11mm. The LED replacement is 30mm x 10mm and you want the one with 4LEDS in WHITE. I don't know if the one with 9LEDs will even fit but it sure looks strange. Then go to www.superbrightleds.com to make your selections. Hope this helps y'all out. [1mm = 0.03937 inches] John |
