Welcome Aboard,
Try using some Acetone (think that is spelled correct?)... Just make sure you have some rubber gloves on and a little breeze blowing for it can become some rough stuff both on your hands, and in your lungs after a while

Acetone works on removing previous graphics residue
I did this on my new 195CC. The yard used acetone to clean, then a very light sanding with 320 grit wet/dry paper, then the 3M primer, then I put on the graphic.
Yes, the soapy water is necessary to promote adhesion, even though that sounds counter intuitive. Mine came out great! Just be patient and use a soft plastic squeegee (an old credit card) to smooth it out before peeling off the outer layer to leave the lettering/graphic. It was 6.5"x 41", so fairly large...a little larger than the Triumph trademark graphic. ![]() I almost forgot. Dampen a rag with acetone, and don't get it on any other graphics, e.g., the stripe along the hull above the waterline, otherwise it will ruin it. |
