Hello Catchem,

The only sealant that will work on your roplene boat is "Elastomeric" made by Sudbury-Rule. You can get several links to places that sell it, either at a local store, local marina, local marine parts store or online by searching for the subject on this site. Some can get it locally and some, like me, have to order it online to get the size and color of tubes we want.

Do not bother trying anything else, it just will not work in the long run. Elastomeric is the only formula that the factory will recommend or use.

P.S. I get mine from C.G. Edwards.

Elastomeric sealent is what you need. Iused some made by Rule and it works. I have heard that Rule is the only way to go.

Catchem & aronlevin,

There are several types of "elastomeric" sealants out there. That is, sealants that have the word "elastomeric" in their name or type name. However, the only one that will surely work on your Triumph roplene material is the Elastomeric made by "Rule". (Sudbury).

Their sealant really does work good too. I have used it on the boat for three years now and have had no failures or problems due to the sealant.

Be careful of the "clear" color. More than one owner has reported that it does not set up as quick or as solid as the white. Don't know why, it just does. (I am one that experienced this.)

feejer,

That is the correct manufacturer and all but the stuff I use does not have the word "Penetrating" on the tube. Mine says "Liquid Elastomeric Marine Sealant".

It comes in the small 3 fl. oz. tube and in a large ridgid tube for use in a caulk gun.

The stuff you have identified appears to be useable but I have no experience with it by that name. Maybe some others have tried the penetrating type.

Feejer,
Sudbury makes the "penetrating" type also. I have not used that specific one before. Go with the one that Randy (NC Angler) suggested.Do not "even" bother with any other type. You wll be wasting your money and your time.
