Well if it were me (since you asked
) I'd have to go with the Plasma for the whole family to enjoy. Merry Christmas!

Genelie, that is a tough decision to make.
The TV set will provide a lot of entertainment that your whole family will enjoy. The radar will help keep you safe and out of harms way. You can see storms approaching, other boats in a fog bank, etc. You set your own priorities. If you want to be out fishing in all types of weather, then go with the radar. If you can stay on shore during bad weather, then get the large TV. We love our DLP based set.

If you find yourself in fog or boating in the dark or want to avoid bad weather out in the ocean....far from home....you NEED the radar!
I would bet you already have a tv bigger than 20"....you may WANT the 50" flat screen plasma...I do too, but the radar can save your life. So, my next purchase is a Garmin 40 digital radar and will buy the plasma tv next year when it costs 50% less than the year before...thanks China! Question, have you bought an GPS/EPIRB yet? I put that before radar but I do very little fog/night boating. |

My vote is for the Radar and if you want to watch something, fire it up at the house and watch the cars and the birds go by! Ha-Ha... Besides finding a flock of diving birds on top of a hungry school fish is one of the big draws of getting one, so you might as well get as much practice as possible
Just remember to use it all the time if you do get it, for if you hit somebody and have it on your boat well.... just read this thread Radar usage
