info on northern ark and santee area lakes

we are looking at purchasing a summer place in north ark ozarks or in the santee cooper area. any input on which area is best for boating/fishing
and pros/cons of each area. Interested in bull shoals, lake of ozarks, etc.
will be taking my 170cc/75 e-tec and spend 5-6 mos in summer then back to florida in winter, we live on lake istokpoga in central fla and bass fish there as well as take boat to coast for inshore/bay fishing snook, reds, etc.
thanks for your input on the ark/ s.c. areas

Couture,
I don't think you would be disappionted with Santee Cooper area. The fishing is great for catfish, stripper, crappie bream and bass. Both lake are large. The hunting is good also. And not very far from the coast. You could also be in the mountains in about 3 hours. My Buddies are fish Santee today, I had to work. Called for a report, he said they have 12 keepers cats.

Cool Santee Cooper Lakes

Have been fishing the lakes and Cooper River for 25yrs. Had my 190Bay in the water today, fished two of my crappie beds but they had lock-jaw I guess.
Several boats trolling in front of the dam, might be a few strippers in the deep water. I love this area for fishing fresh and salt water. Check out Charlestonfishing.com for local reports. Planning to fish your lake out of Trails End Resort in March. Hope you find what your looking for.
