Greetings from Cape Lookout

This Sunday we took the inner route to Cape Lookout through Back Sound.

The charts are worthless in that region! Where we should have been in 17 foot deep channel off Shackelford Banks, I cut off the engine and poled us across the shoals. Closer to Cape Lookout, our GPS told us we were on hard land when our sounder was reading 22 feet.

The water was clear, the beach was beutiful.

Our new boat also got its first taste of pure Atlantic salt water when we went out Beaufort Inlet. That there's a BUSY area! The weather report didn't quite match sea conditions - 3-4' seas with a 10 second dominant period my butt! But the boat handled great, there were 24 footers out there shipping water over their bows while we bucked 'em high and dry.

Just a month ago we were finishing the 8 hour engine break-in, and now we have 18 hours on the Yammy. After spending years on other people's boats, I've got to say that this is one has the best ride and handling, especially in rougher conditions. Great Boat!

Swamp_Bear, glad you had fun.

Funny how folks that have never experienced the ride a Triumph offers make their comments.

Like you, we love the ride we get regardless of the weather. Thanks for the post.
