Fuel gauge/sending unit upgrade

Ok here is the issue, as we all have expereinced in the boating world fuel gauges are not very accurrate in boats. In additon to them being "off" they have tednecy to bounce all over the place. This is most noticable when at 1/2 a tank. For example, mine when running offshore in 2' chop can show anything from 3/4's to less then 1/4", To say this is annoying is an understate. So here is the question, are there upgrade to fuel sending units or gauges that do not bounce?

If not I know my next invention lol.

I purchased a digital fuel monitor guage on my first boat (Navman). On my 2006 215 Chaos I purchased the Yamaha Digital guages. No bouncing now and I like them much better.

I have the same problem. It is a little un nerving when you are 20 miles from the dock and the guage says less than 1/4 when you know you had 1/2 tank just 20 min. ago. I will look into a digital.

The digital systems are pretty cool because most allow you to key in the amount of fuel you add then they can monitor your fuel consumption so you always know how much is in there. It also gives you an idea of how much fuel you're burning at different throttle speeds so you can max out your fuel mileage with speed and trim.
