Question 2007 Triumph name hull decals

The triumph name hull letters are coming off my 2007 150 CC. We purchased it last February, so the boat is not that old. So far the "H" has come off the starboard side. A close look shows that most of the letters are coming lose at the corners and it'll probably be a matter of time before some more come off.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this same problem or were mine just applied right before coffee break!!
Bill

I am guessing here, but I am betting that whom ever put the numbers on didnt use 3M's primer 94. without the primer the decals will not stick.

Or the coverage of the 3M primer didn't reach beyond the corners. You may have received a small tube of 3M primer in your Triumph manual bag (I did when I bought mine from Merritt Marine). If you have one use it to rub under the corners where they are coming loose and reseat them.

I did get two tubes of primer with the new boat, but, I used them for the state registration numbers. They are sticking good!

I have used acetone to clean areas I want to stick registration decals on my boat and not had any come off in 5 years. I have never used primer 94 because I can't find it anywhere at a price I am willing to pay.

What's a good way to REMOVE decals/numbers from the hull?

Thanks Whitto. I used my wife's hair dryer and a 1" putty knife which worked extremely well. The numbers just pealed right off. Cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol and reprimed with 3M 94 Primer.

From the factory:

Using a straight razor blade or a plastic razor blade like the ones made by scraperite works great, then use a cleaner like mineral spirits or lacquer thinner to clean off the residue. Be careful to not gouge into the plastic when scraping.
