Charlotte Area Water Levels

With the lack of rain in the past 2-3 months the water levels are down as much as 5 feet in area lakes. I was wondering if anyone was still putting in at Norman, Mtn. Island or Wylie and where are the ramps deep enough to get in? My 195DC has been in the shop for 20 Hr. Check up so I havent been on the ramps in a while. Any help would be apreciated. I just dont want to pull out to a closed ramp. Thanks, Roger

Thfireman, according to the news, as of last night there were still a couple of ramps open at Blythe Landing on Lake Norman. I also saw vehicles with trailers in the parking lot there as I came down NC 73 on the way home. I didn't go in there and look so I don't know how much ramp is left. If you put in there be sure to run your depth finder. I have lived in that area since 1979 and can tell you there are some shallow areas. Some well marked, others not so well.

Update on Blythe Landing

Thfireman, I went by Blythe Landing around 6 PM today and all the ramps are now closed. Lake Norman has dropped a little more the last day or so. Some of the other older launching areas may still be open, but I would try to check before making the trip for nothing.
