So if the paint has a hard time sticking to the hull, won't the barnacles as well. If you leave a truimph in the water without bottom paint will it damage the hull?

Hey Claydoo. I can speak to this a little. Last summer I decided at the last minute to leave my 210 in the water in Oriental, NC on the Neuse River. I planned to come back several days later, but ended up not getting back for three weeks. I couldn't believe the crud that had attached itself to the hull. A lot of it powerwashed off, but I've still got to climb under the boat and do some serious scrubbing. I'll never leave it in the water again, but I don't think I'd want to go the bottom paint route either.

Hi,

I left my 190 Bay in a dirty canal on Big Pine Key through the Xmas holidays (3 1/2 weeks). When I took it out, it was as clean as when I put it in the water; mind you, I did use the boat every other day on average...
If I leave my boat in fresh water for any more than 5 days, here at home in Lake Ontario or any of the fresh water canal systems, I get this green gunge you and everyone are familiar with. Comes off alot easier than my 'glass boat!!!!

Lightbulb

Anyone tried one of those slip liners. I heard they are a pain in the neck but it might be worth it.

I was told by someone at the Triumph factory that you should let the boat dry out several days once out of the water, then power wash the bottom. It will come off much easier.

i purchased an 01 210cc in '04 that had been bottom painted and it was already flaking off when i got it and to date i have had maybe 10% more flake off as well. i dont keep the boat in water and quite honestly am too lazy to go thru about 10 gallons of paint thinner to remove the paint. it gives extra protection from from dings and scrapes with sandbars and the sand bars help "sand" the paint off!!!! just joking, but it is an undertaking to paint and more importantly maintain the paint once applied.
