2008 Triumph 195 CC

Recently purchased a 2008 Triumph 195CC and am very pleased with it. But, just a quick question; the boat is yellowing near the gas fill overflow area. I suppose this is caused by the gasoline overflowing on the polyethelyne material. Any suggestions on any thing that might remove this. Soap and water does not work and i don't feel like a pressure washer is going to work on this. Any other ideas. Thanks

I would try a "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser". You can get them at Kmart or WalMart. Its a sponge just wet it and scrub. They seem to be the most popular way to clean Triumphs. I have the same model you have and I have never had any stain around the fuel fill. And I have spilled fuel there on several occasions. Also Soft Scrub works too, but the Magic Eraser is UNBELIEVABLE.

Softscrub with bleach and a scowering pad work great. Also for general cleaning, spraying with Greased Lightning and then hit it with a power washer does a great job.

Hi ROBO714,

I have fixed several brands of boats with this issue and you should be looking for a kink in your fuel hose or a loop in the breather hose. These two are the main culprits for causing your problem.

My 195DC fills at full speed from the factory

My 195cc has the same issue with the breather spurting gas when filling.

ROBO714,
I have a 195CC and the same problem filling the tank. Look in your center floor hatch up front and remove the narrow piece of starboard"plastic" board and look back towards the back of the boat. You will see where the vent hose comes out of the top of the tank. On mine you can see where a cross beam has pushed down on the vent hose and created a dip. That dip acts like your elbow underneath your kitchen sink at home. Fuel will lay in that dip and cut down your amount of air that can be released from your tank as you fill it up.If you can figure out a fix for it let me know. The only good thing about pumping the gas in slowly at $3.75 a gallon you feel like you're getting more for your money because it takes so long.

Now that is the best "glass half full" comment I have read in a while. Thank you for the laugh!
