Dismal Northeast Weather!

Man, I can't remember a worse month of May! talk about depression. the fish are up here in the Northeast finally and now this weeks forecast is so bad I can't get out to fish for them! talking high wind warnings, coastal flooding, etc.... on the Northeast coast this week.

It better improve for our TBOT meeting which is now less than 2 weeks away!

I went out Saturday morning despite the small craft advisory - kept in between the Norwalk Islands where it was calm. Then on Sunday it rained almost all day. Got wet, but better than staying indoors where I've been all winter.

The barometric pressure has been < 30 inches and has not made for very good fishing at all. The two weeks leading up to last weekend had been much better. I've been looking around at the fishing reports and not many people are catching yet. Yes, there are some but not what you would expect.

Things really need to improve. My father-in-law is coming up Friday from Florida and expects to hit the striper run and then next week is NE TBOT. But I've seen the fishing turn on a dime before, just hope it does in the coming days.

Look at it this way. The longer the string of lousy weather continues, the better the probability that the weather will be good for NE TBOT!

It might be a TBOT with out the boats if its raining and in the upper 40s like it is now on the Cape. We haven't even gone on are boat yet. This is not fun. Time to move south. Its even warmer in Fairbanks,AK at least they have been in the 70s for most of the month, thats not right. I think its time to move to Charleston, SC.

Talking

North Carolina is very pleasant this time of year. Seriously though, the fishing will be great here in June and July in time for the TBOM (Mackfest). I hope some of you guys can come down for it!

The fishing can be good if you can take the weather...

Talk about horrible weather. I picked up my boat on Saturday and off I was for the maiden voyage in Buzzards Bay. I had my 4 year old as he insisted he wanted to come. We stayed in the channel and had a 40min trip. Despite wind, rain and cold he loved it. He can't stop talking about it. The days before the bay was packed with BIG stripers ready to go through the Canal, but of course they were not there on Saturday. Anyway with the @#$@% weather I feel like a kid with a new toy who does not have permission to play with it.
Rain or shine I will be on the boat this weekend.
