It was great meeting some of the folks that I have been communicating with through this site. The weather was terrific, plenty of fish, I saw some new waters and I managed to catch my first legal strippers! Not bad for a weekend. I appreciate the guys in their bigger and better outfitted boats watching out for me, particularly in the fog, and the tips on how to work the water.

Outtahere - you bailed too early on Sunday. Even I caught fish.

nice pic Cincinnati. Yea I had a blast, was thinking of it today while back in the grind of the work thing. How much fun it was being able to fish for 3 days in a row with nothing else to worry about!
I chatted with the owner of the Green Harbor lodge and he enjoyed having us and is hoping we'd come back again. I told him I felt it was a perfect spot for us and that I would enjoy coming back again. So if you guys are up for it maybe we will tentatively plan on it again for next season.
It would also be fun to try to get down there in September for some Albie and Bonito fishing as well as stripers and blues too!
My boat is still in the parking lot there as he let me keep it there since I'll be back in 2 weeks(not even), 10 days from tomorrrow!!
It was nice getting 18 mpg instead of 10 going home without boat in tow.

hey cincinnati, I've got your soap dispenser gizmo, send me your mailing address and I'll get it to you.

You are right about having 3 days to fish. That was great. I would be interested in a September date. Any time in mind?

I'm starting to really hate my job. I think I'll just move my family to Falmouth and sell striper meat to the resturants on Martha's Vineyard. Yeah, that's the ticket.

We are up for a September trip back to the Cape. Maybe we can make it an every year thing, go first weekend in June and do another weekend in September.

I'd like to go also, but my life gets complicated in September with family and business. If you guys decide on a weekend I would give it my best but just can't guarantee I'll make it. Its great on the cape and islands during September, the water is warm and fishing can be alot of fun for the funny fish(bonito and false albacore).

Just didn't happen

Sounds like you guys had a blast! Despite my best efforts I couldn't be part of the good times. Usually I have about half a dozen summer employees on staff but so far this year I have one. To make matters worse the weekend of the TBOT which is traditionally a slower lull weekend, turned out to be Jawsfest weekend (a celebration of the 30th anniversery of the making of the movie). So the Island was swarming with people. Instead of time off I was working double shifts. In fact I haven't so much as wet a line (boat or shore) as of yet this spring. Iv'e been that busy, its killing me!
Imagine my anguish cruising past west chop overlooking middle ground and seeing logic/ Triumphs trolling the rip slaying linesiders laughing and frollicking all the way down the rip. The horror!
I checked out the pix and it looks like it was well worth your efforts, I can only hope you do it again and I can be a part of it next time. It would be awesome next time if you were to do the fall bonito / false albacore thing. This is my area of expertise and the perfect fish for our sort of watercraft. Chasing bones and albies all day is my version of heavan. I can direct you to some great spots and tell you peak run times as well as get the dates of the Martha's Vineyard Bass and Bluefish Derby should that interest you in your considerations of where and when for the next shindig. It would make the TBOT even more exciting to register for the derby and add the thrill of possibly winning a boat or truck while having fun.
Anyways I'm sorry I could'nt be there with you guys. So close and yet so far.
glad it was a sucsess anyways - great job everyone!

MV Bluefish

Hey MVBluefish,
I am going to be down on the Vineyard this Sat June 18th - 25th, right now looks like it will be just me and wife and our 1 yr old, so I may be looking for some company to head out to Wasque or wherever, my 210 will be moored in Edgardtown harbor, give me a call if interested anytime. Cell is 802-253-7595.
