Considering a Triumph

I first came to this web site to learn more about Triumph boats because I will be buying one in the near future, hopefully a 210. I realize that a lot of the people on this site are like me and do not yet own a Triumph but are considering buying one. When I first got on this site and heard about the storage areas leaking, screws popping out, water in the hull, etc. Intially it scared me as I am sure it has other non owners. But I happened to realized that the boat I own now, a 2003 .100 gauge Aluminum Tracker Targa 17 Deep V, has many more problems than the Triumph owners have. I have had screws pop out, the "easy" removable seats take a sledge hammer to remove, the ride in a 2' chop will beat your internal organs right out of you, I have dents all over it where I have bumped piers and other objects, the fish finder did not work the day I got it, the AM/FM radio must have come from a toy store, none of the storage compartments have any seals around them and they all leak. None of this ever bothered me. Just assumed it was part of having a boat. But yet when I initially read about Triumph boats it concerned me, until I woke up.

Guess the point I am trying to make is for those of you who are considering buying a Triumph don't let these minor complaints by owners bother you. Just ask a Triumph owner the bottom line, as I have done, would you buy another one and most will say "YES". Also, check out some of the other boat owners web sites and you will find that they have a lot of complaints too. I love to hear the owners on this site talk with such passion about their boats. Cannot wait to get one.

Great perspective Offshoredreamer. I am one of those Triumph owners that loves my boat and can't wait to get my next one. I don't know of any boat that is perfect and certainly not in this price point. For my money a Triumph is hard to beat. Even with a sledgehammer!

OfshoreDreamer, I could not have said it any better.

While our boat is new, and the first boat I have owned since I was 20, we love it. When I tell people that are looking at it when we are at the boat ramp or in my garage, they cannot believe that it is plastic.

It took me a while to understand that there is no such thing as a perfect boat, but our 210 is great for my family.

My last boat was a seaswirl 2150 I purchased it new. It was a great boat with a very good reputation. However I had problems that would drive you crazy like where wires from lights went thru the deck it would leak when wet and a leak where the speedo tube went thru the transom below the water line that totaly soaked the transom core. But I still liked the boat, I now have a 1700 cc triump which I purchased new and just the fact that I dont have to wax it anymore is making me a very happy camper.

Hi there OffshoreDreamer, We love our little Triumph, and I still have my old Boston Whaler in the back yard too, It's all about technology and the ability to change with it, When we went and bought our boat money was not the issue, it was about reliability, maintenance, ease of use, and total package options. It was far and away the best we found available for any amount of money in it's class, Having past experience in a boat yard as a Master Carpenter, I felt that these were the best available boats on the planet,IMHO

This website is a "work in progress". It is a valuable place to share our collected knowledge and experience with other Triumph owners.

Our family is definitely growing.....not shrinking. That fact speaks pretty loud.

Correct me if I am wrong NC Angler.
