Question decals ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Any tips on how to get the old glue under the old decals off these triumph boats? Next, any tips on how to get the new decals to stick?

Nick

Nick,

You might try WD-40 to help you remove the adhesive.

To get decals/graphics to stick. Make sure the surface is clean, then take a heat gun or propane torch to heat the surface. When heating the surface, remember to keep the heat source moving, not to stay in one spot too long as it will discolor the plastic, you will want see a nice wet/glossy shine on the plastic to prepare your self for the next step.
While the plastic is still warm, and if you really want to make sure your graphic's are going to stick and not come off, apply a coat of 3M-94 primer to the surface.

Then your tacky!

I didn't use any primer, just heated up with a torch quickly like mentioned, my reg numbers have stayed on fine since doing this over a year ago! try acetone to clean it first, check with Dick at Merritt about this if necessary.

Check out the Merritt Marine website that I designed for them. You can get the phone number or email Dick from there.
