Lettering

Well, I made my own from a font I got from West Marine's website for their lettering service. I took the font copy to work and enlarged the letters to a resonable size. I have a big roll of red reflective tape so I made the letters out of that.
The 'Astro' is on the left side of the stern of the boat. There are some glow-in-the-dark stars around it. On the right side I put the 'Diver' part. There is a diagonal white reflective stripe across the letters, making it resemble a Dive Flag.
I have a photo, but don't know how to attach it.

AstroDiver, to attach a photo simply choose to Edit your post then select "Manage Attachments" below the text edit window. Then select the file you want to Upload. Upload the file then close that window and save the edited post with the attachment.

If you have a problem just email it to me and I'll post it for you.

I worked with a guy that did lettering and he told me you spray the surface with soapy water than apply lettering postion and smooth out and let dry. I know it sounds like the water would screw it up but i seen him do it and it worked great.

BoatUS also does them but wouldn't expect them to be too economical. $8 for a pint of 3M Primer? My dealer only charged me $54, Thanks Travis Boating Center!

For those looking to Name or Re-name a boat, here's a thread for the proper ceremony.

Sounds like the least he could have done was give you a peck on the cheek with it.

Thanks Jan
I just orderd 2 - ½ pints at $8 ea. That stuff is scarce around here!
Just in time for my new boat reg. I’ll have numbers cut to match the font of my boat name and this time I’ll put them above the rub rail where they won’t get splashed off.
