I finally figured out what this site needs

Hi all,
I have been busting my brain trying to figure out what it would take to get more people posting....Here is my solution. We need a forum for (what ever topics) In this forum, you can talk about anything....(no politics..LOL)
You name it just what I said, or nonsence forum, or anything goe's forum....So Whatcha all think....really, I think that would get more people posting.

Oh yea, that is just what we need a section for fights and flame wars to break out. No I have watched more than one site implode under its own weight from having a "fighting ring" section.

So go partake in the fights that break out on the Addictive Fishing web fourm if you need to watch a circus and see up close and personal, just how nasty people can get from taking something 180 degrees from its intended context if you must. Randy, Vic, and I already spend enough time blocking tackle and keeping the intended focus here without needing a "free for all" section to watch also

I view this site as a bunch of folks that have a common thread (plastic boats) that are trying to help each other out. I am not interested in trying to get Triumph to do something. If I do not like what Triumph is doing or how they are doing it, I take my dollars with me and go elsewhere. If Triumph does not want to put through drains in their fishboxes or is not responding to manufacturing problems I can choose not to buy another one. The fights start when you are trying to be an advocacy group and there are policy disagreements. Folks should report poor service so we all know what we are dealing with, but its a statement, not a bashing and no purpose is served by endlessly hashing things and getting everybody spun up.

Keep it helpful.

I think the posting volume is just about right as is. I value the forum but don't want to always be on-line. That takes away time from fishing!

WOW, an arrow just pierced me heart. I did not realize that a forum to just talk about something other than fishing or our boats could lead into a battle??
Heck, if you have seen this, then I guess you are right. SOOOOOooooooooo on to the next Idea....????? :-}}

It wasn't such a bad idea. But I can see both sides.

Hey Genelie. Not a bad idea, but obviously one that folks have different thoughts about. You guys can talk about anything you want to here as long as it stays family friendly and positive. I have no problem at all sharing problems we're having with our boats as long as we're looking for solutions to the problems and not attacking a person or company in the process.

I do like the focus we have on sharing tips, mods and helpful information related to our Roplene runners. Maybe a good forum for general discussions would be to start a weekly chat session in a Chat Room. Just a thought.

I agree 100%. I think there is a great volume of posters. Anything more, and it'd take an hour/day to catch up. Chat is a great medium for talking about anything. If there's an open forum, next thing you know it gets out-of-hand and the moderators have to lock it up.
