Strange Long Green Thing in my Bilge Area!!!!!!

No it is not alive but I got your attention! I was in there yesterday adding an onboard charging unit next to the battery. I was moving the multitude of wires around when I spotted a "GREEN" 14 or 16 guage size wire that was not hooked to anything on that end. It looks like it was never skinned out for a terminal or connection. I traced it the best I could and it leads back to the transom and looks like it is fastened to the metal gas fill frame from the underside. I am assuming it is a ground to prevent static charge and ignition while refueling..... Am I right? If so is the end of the wire near the battery supposed to be connected to anything?

I meant to call Huntley and ask today but I am at the fire station and got busy and forgot. Soooo I turned to my buddies here for advice or information.

Thanks,
Roger

Nevermind, I got in touch with Huntley Marine and in their usual helpful way they told me that the wire is indeed a ground to prevent static ignition during fueling. It is supposed to be connected to the negative terminal on the battery. Someone overlooked that connection so they offered to let me bring it in and they would correct it but I dont want to drag it up there just for that. I will put a terminal on it myself and hook er up.

Thanks to Huntley Marine in Pineville for their continued professional assistance.

I contacted Triumph for you about this and since they responded I'll post it here in case it benefits another owner.

The green wire is the ground for the fuel fill. I should have a ring terminal on it so it can be connected to the negative terminal on the battery. Please take back into your dealer or terminate with a ring terminal and connect to your battery.

Fireman; I had ared and black striped thing in my fish well. My grand-daughter opened the well on afishing trip to get a cushion out and started screaming. There was a 3ft rat snake swimming in the1/2 full well. I keep my 17ft. logic cc on a wood cradle, by my seawall. The lousey drain plugs keep falling out and I forgot to check them. But it was better than the time I picked up the 3gal . gastank(w/concave bottom) in my sailboat an found a large rat who had been out sailing with me all day. PIRATE PETE

I knew his brother, Stinky Pete. He was dead in my stowage compartment on my Poontoon boat. The snake might be good bait for a big fish. I am going to start 1/2 scewing the plug in to keep the skinny critters out of the Triumph.
